UP FOR AUCTION 1974 Saab Sonett III. I bought this car with hopes of a full restoration but my other restoration project an 1837 Brick Meeting House has taken over - so the Sonett needs to find a new home. I believe this car to originally be a west coast car - I bought it from an older gentlemen in Idaho who had purchased it from Washington State but was told it originally had been a California car. The former owner had put on a Weber Tipo 34 ICH carburetor, new dual exhaust with chrome tips. I had the radiator recored, all of the hoses changed, fluids changed, new fuel pump, replaced leaking rear brake cylinders and rear brake shoes, patched hole under the battery - no other rust was found, replaced the glass shocks in the rear hatch, hooked up the headlights - manual switch works, headlamps were replaced, new oil change and a fresh inspection sticker. The car is a project and needs to have the interior redone, body work, and still could use some tuning - but it is miles ahead of where it was when I bought it 6 months ago. I'm also not a fan of the exhaust - a bit too throaty for me. I also noticed the odometer has stopped working - could be the cable but I do not know for sure.
