Vehicle Detail
Private sale (I am not a dealer). First let me say, if you are looking for the cheapest BMW R1150R out there this one is not it & you should probably look elsewhere. Having said that, if you are seriously looking for the nicest bike out there for your dollar, then look no further. I purchased this bike (my 5th. BMW) about 4 years ago from the 1st. owner with 23000 miles on it. I changed all fluids & filters (engine/gearbox/final drive/forks/brakes & clutch). & installed a new battery. Fresh plugs & replaced fork seals. New (in tank) fuel filter & alternator belt. Changed those pathetic plastic fuel injection quick release clamps for plated brass ones that do NOT crack & leave you stranded! (This is way more than what that smiley faced dealership calls "MAJOR SERVICE" & will whack you a grand for!). Since then I have done approx. 7000 miles on it. (less than 2000 per season). I've always done my own maintenance (now retired Vintage British motorcycle award winning restorer & ex British racer). This bike can only be described as immaculate in every respect. Tires are Pirelli Angels (wonderful tires!) & have probably a good 3K left. It has BMW city hard cases (keyed alike) with zero scratches or rubs, & a factory BMW fly screen. About 18 months ago I installed a OHLINS front shock ($800) & a Sargent seat($500). These two things, along with the Pirelli's, turned it into the best handling bike I've ever ridden! Exactly what it should have been when it left the factory! It has bar backs & a BMW built in trickle charger. It's always been garaged & covered. Has never been dropped or down. It runs like a Swiss watch & has no oil leaks. Recent oil/air filter change. Bike needs nothing. So why am I selling it? I just turned 70, have severe arthritis & have to admit that my riding days are sadly over. Included will be a nice full size dust cover, & Haynes workshop manual. If you are local you are welcome to come see it in person (Sorry, no joy rides). I'll provide a new inspection sticker for any Maine purchaser. Or fly in & ride it home with absolute confidence. (I can pick you up at Augusta airport). Clear & clean Title in hand. I'm 1.5 driving hours. from Portland, Maine. Any Q's answered promptly. PAYMENT:- A non-refundable $250.00 deposit to be made via Paypal within 24 hrs. Balance to be made in CASH U.S. $ on pick up. I will not accept any checks of any description. I will not ship. I can store the bike for any agreed time if needed, but FULL payment must be made within 10 days. Thanks for looking!
