Vehicle Detail
Drives well and the engine is sound. It has a current New York State inspection sticker that expires at the end of September. To the best of my knowledge it should pass inspection again, as is, with the existing the tires. The car does not need major repairs, just some cosmetic attention on the exterior. Over $2,000 was invested into engine mods and the included SCT Touch Screen Xtreme Tuner in 2010 to improve the engine performance. The fuel pump was also replaced several years ago. My goal for listing and showing the minor flaws is to prevent any surprises. Everything operates the way it should except for the after market PIA fog lights. The convertible top was replaced last year with a new back window with functional defogger. Convertible top operates perfectly. No leaks. Everything was kept original since I purchased the car such as: the sticker # 245 on the bumper (see pic), the Saleen decal word across the windshield (has some wear), the carpet mats which are in great condition, original stock sound system with 6 disc CD player, rims, original supercharged engine with 32k miles. The car is very low, which is desirable and fun while driving, but can be sometimes challenging when driving up steep driveways (aprons). You can see from pic that the front facia has taken some scraps and chips from steep inclines and bumping into those concrete parking stops. It probably will be an issue if loading it onto a carrier. The front driver side quarter panel has a small kink to it (last picture, look near the narrowest section where the top of the wheel flair section meets the main panel). Its difficult to see in the picture but I want you to know that it is there. Most people don't notice it (except those annoying friends that will be kind enough to point it out to you). It was there when I purchased the car. Overall the exterior paint is in good condition. Some of the rims have chips and cracks in the paint. The right tailpipe is in more than the left, but does not affect performance. These issues are shown in pics, and more pics can be provided if desired. The interior leather seats and dash are in great condition, except for round marks around the cigarette lighter that were there when the car was purchased (see pic). Behind one of the seats there are some scuff marks, and a vent cover (about 2" by 1") is missing on the driver's side. The metal speaker grills need minor paint touch up as some of the paint wore off (see pic). The power seat switch assembly doesn't stay latched to the seat so sometimes you have to put your fingers behind it to help. It is still fully functional and never bothered me enough to fix it. Other than that, the interior is beautiful. It also comes with a cover for the back seat when the top is down. The car is not showroom material, but with some cosmetic repairs, it has great potential. On Aug-13-17 at 10:52:36 PDT, seller added the following information: The description above should read "The back end of the convertible top was replaced last year..." Not all of the canvas was replaced, just near the rear window which was replaced. There is a narrow 3/4" frayed section of the lower edge of the top near the location where the two passenger side windows meet. There are three more smaller minor blemishes on the edges. So far we can't figure out how to switch a picture in to show it. Pictures available upon request.
