You are looking at a neat little example of what those in the know say is "the next big thing" in terms of collectible cars. This is a very well-done example by Eric Heffernan and his father. The BMW purists may not like it, but take the time to look at this car and I'm sure you would agree it's one of a kind, and I feel a definite improvement over the original appearance. Lots of neat stuff done, I will try to cover it all but I'm sure to forget something: Exterior: Nicely finished in BMW Laguna Seca Blue, arguably the most iconic and sought after color of modern-day BMWs (normally seen on S54 E46M3s and S54 Z3 M Coupes). In addition to the vibrant color choice, this '02 is outfitted with turbo flares, turbo fascia (with HDR flexible rubber lower lip spoiler, very subtle), and turbo rear spoiler (all OEM BMW). Also has aftermarket Euro-style rear bumper, shadow-line style trim, and custom-designed matte black graphics inspired by the Turbo model. Also installed a set of period-correct Hella500 fog lights, and a custom euro plate on the rear. To finish this package we selected the Enkei classic 15x8s black with polished lip and Dunlop Direzza rubber. To enhance the clean look, we "shaved" the upper and lower moldings prior to paint. Regarding rust or rust repair, this vehicle was originally a California car, then a Georgia car, so no winters, very solid example with no rust. Momo Prototipo steering wheel and matching shift knob, custom center console houses aftermarket gauges (I've yet to hook up 2 of them), AM/FM CD player, and charger port (for phones, mp3 players, etc...). Might be difficult to see in the pics, but the seat and door panel stitching matches the suede and headrest embroidery. Mechanical: Great stance with new H&R springs and Bilstein shocks, recent head-gasket, all new top-end gaskets, complete new front brakes, Weber carb, desirable 5 speed trans swap with limited slip rear diff, new exhaust front to back with center exit twin tail pipe. Other than the aforementioned, the remainder of drivetrain remains stock.
