Vehicle Detail
I acquired this bike recently (June). It's giving trouble kick starting as it kicks back strongly whenever I try to feel out the correct procedure for it. I did have it out very briefly once after bump starting it and ran strong and responsive (the only riding I've done on this bike). Since that point, it's been sitting in my garage – I've stopped attempting to kick it and have not taken it back to the hill near my house to bump start again. I have had a new (aftermarket) CDI ($85 from regulatorrectifier.com) and ignition coil ($15) installed professionally in June. Carbs were cleaned professionally in June (bike sitting since). Speedometer responds skittishly and fluctuates rapidly to acceleration, and does not give an accurate reading of current speed in the brief time I was able to observe. All lights work. New battery, new spark plug. I previously had the exact same model bike in pristine condition until it was stolen in 2011. I'm looking for a more perfect example. Purchased this one here sight unseen.I have included a screenshot of the Craigslist ad I purchased the bike from for reference. Please contact me if interested and I will send you the previous seller's LinkedIn profile for what that's worth, also for reference.Clean and clear New York title in my name. Sold as is with no warranty.Contact me to arrange viewing in person. Given my limited time with it and unfamiliarity with what's going on with it, I would recommend coming to see it.On Aug-05-17 at 18:48:05 PDT, seller added the following information: Please note, being that this bike is cosmetically okay, not perfect, and combined with the starting issue mentioned, I'm not looking to go any further with it. I had been planning to re-upholster the seat, add a Clarke gas tank and generally polish up (or replace) those areas corroding you see in the photos as much as I could manage. However, I am not able mechanically to work on it or diagnose the mechanical problem, though my hopes are someone else with greater knowledge in this area will be. It's my best option to try my luck elsewhere. As I said, I've only had this bike operational once since I bought it (in June) and it required a roll start at that. Do not expect to pick this bike up, kick it and ride it home, that won't happen. I want to be as clear as possible, so please ask me any questions you have. The previous owner had sent me a video of it running outside his garage apparently right before it was shipped off to me. Message me and I will share that with those interested as well.On Aug-05-17 at 19:11:34 PDT, seller added the following information: Please also note, the most major cosmetic issues are the gas tank dent, small tear in seat, left rear turn signal that's taped on (see photo) and neutral/turn/high-beam light housing that's slightly cracked (see photo, the one of speedometer). On Aug-06-17 at 11:14:23 PDT, seller added the following information: The bike has NOT been inspected since being brought to New York.
