Vehicle Detail
2001 LS430 Ultra Edition For those of you who know what the Ultra Edition is, little explanation is needed. It has always been the long list of high-tech features that make this model of the LS-430 coveted by luxury car buyers to this day. It was introduced in 2001 with options that other cars are just now being equipted with: front and rear parking sensors; regular AND adaptive cruise control; traction control; air suspension system; even a vehicle stability control system with electronic throttle control. 2001 was the first year of a 7-year run (2001-2006) for the Ultra edition that was eventually deemed “too expensive” for the market at the time. Original window sticker on this vehicle was $69,585.00. As with this car, most initial Ultra Edition purchases were lease cars due to their high retail price tag of $12,505 more than the base model. I am the second owner of this car and purchased it after it came off of its original 24 month lease in 2003. The original owner was president of a company out of Houston, Texas who had a private parking space at work in a covered parking deck. I have taken care of it for 14 years. I am retired and own a small classic car restoration shop so my business is taking care of cars. If being purchased locally or if you want to have an agent inspect the car, I have a lift in my garage that so you can inspect the condition of the chassis. Never smoked in, always garage-kept, two-person family (no kids) automobile. This Lexus is in great shape inside and out and has performed extremely well for my wife and I. It has traveled almost 222,000 miles and has always been rock-solid dependable. If well-cared for this car should last 400,000. The only reason was selling the car now is that I purchased my wife a clean 2014 LS-460 as an anniversary present. Windshield sun screen is always used to protect the dash and is included. The car cover I use in the garage goes with it as well. CD Navigation disc updated to the 2012 version. This Lexus came with the 17” chrome slotted factory alloy wheels. Replacement tires are inexpensive and offer the soft ride of a 17” tire. Cold air conditioning and operational heat as expected. Full service documentation and receipts for all work done to the car since 2003. Needs/problems: Tires need to be replaced and the Navigation system does not always work. It could be argued that the Lexus LS 430 leads the way in four door Luxury Sedan engineering and technology. Under the hood, it gets a 290 horsepower 4.3-liter V8 that generates 320 lbs-ft of torque, with a 5-speed electronically-controlled automatic transmission as standard. Inside, it doesn’t disappoint either. It boasts leather upholstery, heated seats, navigation, a trip computer, upgraded audio and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls. ABS comes standard.Values Average Trade-In Clean Trade-In Clean Retail Base Price $4,200 $5,550 $6,625 Mileage (222,000) -$1,200 -$1,200 -$1,200 Total Base Price $3,000 $4,350 $5,425 Options: (change) Navigation System $200 $200 $225 Levinson Stereo $150 $150 $175 Price with Options $3,350 $4,700 $5,825 Maintenance is all up-to-date.
