Last year I attempted to sell my truck but I was asking a little high and decided to keep it for a little longer. Now the truck must go. We are about to sign a lease on an 8 seater for my wife and I am driving a Tesla so the truck will just sit around unused. I kept the text from last year listing which contain lots of info which I am pasting below. In an early stage of the truck life both doors were replaced and some of the paint at this point show some fading. Mechanically, the truck is sound though and the miles are extreemly low for the year. Since last year, I added the highest weight rated to haul my Hobbie 18.5' kayak trimaran sail boat (225 lbs). Pay no attention to the plastic pipes running from front to rear on the roof rack. I will remove them and you will have a super duty roof rack. Here is the listing text from last year with a little correction for the asking price: The time has come to sell my beloved Tacoma. The family has a new member and a 7 seater full size SUV has become a necessity. This listing is for people that understand cars. I am the first owner of the vehicle. Initially when I searched for my new truck, I insisted on safety. The truck has the most air bags Toyota had to offer for this year model; 2 front, side curtains, and side impact bags in the sides of the front seats. I also purchased the longest warranty Toyota had to offer at the time; 5 years 70K which proved as a great investment. The vehicle stock has the following options: · Double Cab, V6 - 4 Liter motor, Automatic Transmission, 5’ Bed. · SR5, TRD off Road Package with Hill Descent Control, Hill Start Assist, Traction Control, Stability Control, Rear Locking Differential. · Towing Package · All the usual for the model (e.g. ABS, Tire pressure sensor, Power windows, AC, etc.) Shortly after buying the truck, I started to upgrade the vehicle with off road and versatility in mind. I guess it was a childhood dream of mine. Working on cars since the tender age of 12, I finally was financially able to accomplish this. Short of the installation of the supercharger and some warranty work that was performed by a Toyota dealer, I did all the work m myself. The truck was maintained every 3K-3.5k miles, exceeding manufacturer requirements of 4500 miles oil change interval. I have all the maintenance record of the truck from day one. Below you will see a list with dates, miles, and cost of each repair and/or upgrade done to the truck. I can back that up with invoices. You will not find many vehicles with full transparency to all of their history. I ended up putting more hours building my truck than actually enjoying it off road. This was mainly due to the poor access to off road trails in the vicinity of NYC metropolitan area. In terms of performance, the truck blew me away with all the tech Toyota put into it. Downhill assist and traction control are just crazy. The truck is sending brake pulses to various wheels to maintain traction. At time it was better to climb with this system than to engage rear locking differential (which would cancel the traction control). The supercharger turned the truck to a beast. A list of upgrades from front to rear is as follow: · ARB bull guard with Warren winch, Synthetic cable upgrade (lighter, much stronger, and will not kill you if snapped as oppose to the steel cable), wired and wireless winch remote. Control box on winch was recently changed new. · HID auxiliary front lights. · Icon coil over upgraded front suspensions (rebuilt in Aug 2012 at 50k) · Total Chaos front suspension upper A arm for longer travel. · Rear Icon shocks with external reservoir, Dakar Leaf upgraded springs. · Wheel spacers (making the truck wider and more stable) · Toyota TRD original supercharger · Demello offroad steel tube rock sliders and rear wrap around bumper · Air intake snorkel · Bed Extender, Lift gate lock, bed LED light, hard bed folding cover with battery solar charger, Core-Trex Tie-Down System for bed. High Lift jack installed in bed. · On board air compressor with 2 tanks, gauge, and train horn. · Kicker 4.1 amp, Kicker subwoofer, Pioneer AVIC-Z130BT with rear view camera. Doors, and cab where acoustically insulated for better sound. Additional 110V inverter behind rear seat. · Viper car alarm with remote starter and two-way remote. Please note that the remote starter has an issue and a stereo shop should be able to go over the installation to get it work 100% of the time. · Bud Built Heavy Duty Skid Plates. · New Bridgestone Dueler Tires recently installed. From the time the vehicle was new, I purchased $400+ seat cover (those where the only one available to be able to work with the seat air bag), so seat upholstery is clean as new. Many of the upgrades components where maintained/replaced, as you can see on the list below. Worth noting; the starter was replaced in Dec 2012 at 53783 miles, and the alternator was replaced in May 2014 at 68517 miles. The truck suspensions are Heavy Duty raising the maximum payload the truck could carry. The front end could be lifted by few inches with the turn of the front coils adjusting ring but the front will be a lot firmer. The way it is set up now, suits my need and payload. Another factor to consider, the total amount of the upgrades does not include labor since I did the work. If I had to pay for a shop to do all the work, I would assume I’d have to pay at least another $10k+ in labor fees. In 2014 I bought a Tesla, and since my wife had 1.5 more years on her lease, the Tacoma was for the most part parked. Early this year, my wife took possession of the truck after her lease ended. As a result, the vehicle has low miles for its age. KBB state the vehicle value at $19.5k. In addition, I put upgrades for another $28k (factoring in $10k shop labor that I saved).
