Vehicle Detail
Just a quick note first, I'm serious about selling this car, so if you're going bid, please be serious about going through with the purchase, i.e. have the funding lined up, etc. Thanks 1968 Pontiac GTO 4 Speed Convertible, 400 c.i. M21 4spd. This is a PHS documented car, all PHS papers are included with the sale. I've owned this car for 15 years, prior to that my best friend owned the car since 1984. He bought the car from the original owner. In addition to the pictures, I've also included a youtube video link here: https://youtu.be/pXB1EZz3SCo I completed a no expense spared, frame off, ground up, nut and bolt restoration about 7 years ago and have been enjoying the car ever since. This car is all numbers matching, including intake manifolds, heads, quadrajet carb, Muncie M-21 4 speed transmission, 3:55 Posi-Traction rear end, etc. The car is restored back to original factory condition, right down to the factory correct hose clamps, plug wires, radiator hoses, vacuum hoses, etc. Even the ($1,100) Gardner exhaust system is an exact copy of the original GM system, so the car sounds exactly as it did the day it was driven off the showroom floor in 1968. I have hundreds of photographs documenting the restoration as well as file folders full of receipts and paperwork. All of this info will be included with the sale of the car. This car came from the factory with the ultra-rare Aegena Blue exterior and Teal Blue interior color combination. Options include a factory Dash Tachometer, Power Top, Power Antenna, Rosewood Sport Steering Wheel, Center Console, Remote Driver's Side Mirror, Enduro Bumper with Hideaway Headlights, Rally II 15" Wheels, (originally came with 14" Rally II's), Chrome Exhaust Tips, and Factory Front Disc Brakes. The only thing that I upgraded was that I added an OEM power steering box and pump, and an OEM power brake booster set up. The car originally had manual steering, and the front factory disc brakes and rear drum brakes were also manual. The car has appeared in dozens of car shows, 30 plus parades, several local and regional TV commercials, as well as a 2015 Hollywood produced movie named 'Life of Crime' starring Jennifer Anniston and Tim Robbins. The last few pictures are from the movie set and pics I took of the movie screen while I was in the theater. Notice the period correct Michigan plates. This GTO runs and drives perfectly down the road. It has never let me down in any way, I would not hesitate to drive cross country in the car. It's a beautiful car that attracts a tremendous amount of attention wherever I drive it. Please contact me if you have any questions or if you would like to see the car prior to the end of the auction. Thanks, Chris
