This is the final of the three Saleen’s Phil has ever owned, the other two, 1994 S351 SN 94-007 and 2004 S281 SN 04-007, are out there in the hands of collectors.During his tenure as Chief Creative Officer at Saleen, Inc., and prior to the whole Great Recession business implosion, Phil had this S281 Extreme built to his specifications. Beyond the typical Extreme build sheet, which anyone who knows, knows, 550HP (466@W), 525TQ(466@W)(see factory dyno sheet), etc, etc, etc..The one of a kind factory options include the first Saleen Watt’s Link System installed on an Extreme (which Phil helped design for the Parnelli Jones Mustang) and amazingly the original CNC prototype Extreme wheels which were $20k when first produced! Phil had these painted Grabber Orange at the factory in a nod to his design of the Parnelli Jones Mustang, along with the mirror caps and *PFD graphics that round out this unique signature collectible vehicle.The only other updates are a brand new set of Pirelli P-Zero tires, a new heavy duty clutch, an alarm system and clear bra. “The Beast” was Phil’s daily driver for seven years and as such has 43K miles of daily use. Interior, seats and floor mats are in great shape.
