Vehicle Detail
For sale is my 1974 Chrome Bumper MGB. This is an early 74, the last of the chrome bumpers. I removed the large rubber over-riders and replaced them with the chrome over-riders. The original rubber over-riders are still available to the winning bidder. This is a nice running and driving MGB. It has a brand new biscuit interior, with green piping, new carpet, new door cards. The top is a brand new Robbins top which was fitted by a professional upholsterer that specializes in British cars. Under the carpet, I installed sound and heat installation which makes the ride much more comfortable. The paint presents nicely, but has some chips and scratches here and there. The car was originally white and was repainted in dark green. They did not paint the engine compartment which remains white. Mechanically, the car runs and drives well. I have not driven it often, or far but it starts right up every time, holds good oil pressure, shifts through all the gears nicely, and stops with out a hitch. It has a brand new brake master cylinder, front brake calipers, clutch master cylinder, new plugs, wires, cap, and rotor as well. I just completed a coolant flush today. It has brand new tie rod ends. All of the gauges work, except the fuel gage. It is the sending unit, and I have a new one to fit. The license plate lights are not hooked up. I have ones mounted on the plate and ones that mount on the overriders. I was going to leave it to the new owner which ones they wanted installed. The tires look brand new, but are old. They squeal when going around corners from being so old and hard. They may serve you for awhile, but if I was driving it often I'd replace them. There was no rust on the vehicle anywhere. The body was nice, which is why I bought it. It had a small patch on the passenger floor pan. Let me know if you have any questions, or would like any other pictures or a video of the car running. The winning bidder will be required to place a deposit via PayPal of $500 within 48 hours of the auction closing. In addition to the this listing, the car is for sale locally. If you would like to see the car in person, email me and we can set up a time.
