Vehicle Detail

REDUCED $2900 to $2300 - BIKE MUST GO - MAKE ME AN OFFER I CAN'T REFUSE For sale is a 1998 Honda VTR 1000F Superhawk. Asking $2100 or best offerMileage: 17,950 Located in Allston, MA. Contact me if you would like to come and see it in person. This is one of the first models of the VTR 1000, which was intended as a Ducati Killer by Honda. The engine was later used in the legendary Honda RC51, a Superbike World Championship bike. With a 1000cc V-Twin, this bike has an insane amount of torque. In 1st and 2nd gear, you can easily pop a power wheelie. This bike is not for beginners. Due to it's size and weight, it's best suited for someone 6 foot or taller. The title is "Rebuilt," as it was in an accident long before I purchased it a couple of years ago. After purchasing it, I spent thousands having it worked on by a reputable mechanic. If you decide to purchase the bike, I can give you his contact info and let him verify that the bike is in good condition. The Yelp reviews for his business are fantastic, and he does excellent honest work.Keep in mind, that most used bikes under $5,000 will require expensive and time-consuming mechanic work before they can be considered road ready, so you'll have to add $500 - $1500 to the price of any bike you buy. With new breaks, tires, battery, etc. this particular bike is ready to ride as-is.KNOWN ISSUES:-- According to my mechanic, the solenoids could stand to be replaced. This is a quick and simple replacement that you could probably do yourself. The only problems that the solenoids cause is a difficulty in starting the bike after months of not being used. If you plan to ride this bike this summer, you could probably wait to replace the solenoids after the season ends.-- Electrical issues. When this bike was repaired long before I got it, the mechanic evidently didn't do a great job with the wiring. This has caused some problems for me in the past - issues with tail lights, starters, etc. My mechanic has fixed every issue that has come up, and anything he's fixed probably won't break again. However, I can't guarantee that every single electrical problem has been repaired at this point.RECENTLY-PERFORMED UPGRADES AND REPAIRS (around 1000 miles ago):-- New Michelin Pilot Power 3 tires-- New front brake rotors -- New front and rear brake pads-- New front and rear sockets-- New gold chain -- New brake and clutch levers-- New handle grips-- New front right clip on (OEM)-- New right side clutch cover-- New battery (Installed this week)-- Oil and coolant changed approximately 1000 miles agoINCLUDED IN SALE:-- Carfax report, detailing the history of this bike-- Receipts from mechanic, showing history of all work recently performed. This bike is ready to ride. Thousands of dollars in new equipment and repairs added. Most bikes in this price range on Craigslist are not ready to ride - they'll require a trip to the mechanic, and definitely new tires. Mechanics are busy this time of year, and the summer won't be here forever. Sale is final. Any repairs or maintenance required after purchasing will be the sole responsibility of the new owner. This bike is not under warranty. Buyer must pick up in person. Recommended that you bring a trailer, as you must register and insure the bike before it is street legal.Cash Only, $2100 or best offer.
