This 11/86 build date 87 560SL is finished in its' original coat of signal red with black interior. The car is truly in excellent shape, the original paint is completely unmolested, and shows a even .4 Mils thickness across the board. The car is completely rust free and shows exceptionally well for a 97k mile car, and the service records indicate as much as the car was superbly cared for. All VIN stickers are in place and this car is just a nice, original piece. In the past 12 months, the shocks, upper and lower control arms were replaced, as well as the subframe bushings. The expensive preventative "timing chain and guides" were replaced in 2015 as well. The A/C was serviced in 2016 and fitted with a new evaporator and works great. The car was fitted with new tires and a 4 wheel alignment in 2017. The convertible top was fitted in 2016 as well. The car has the dealer installed "kinder seat" as well. The interior shows very well with minimal wear, if any. The car cleans up nicely and is "ready to go" with no work needed to be done or service to be performed. I think this is a great car for anyone to drive and enjoy, you are getting a whole lot of car for the money. This is a great driver and has been to many local shows and events and is ready to serve the new owner. The carfax and autocheck on the car are spotless and this is a issue free car. If you are exporting, I have had luck with a company out of Florida called "Berlin Motors" they've inspected and shipped quite a few SL's to Europe for customers, could be a step in the right direction if you are out of the country. Conversely, if you are in the States, I have a central dispatch account and can get you a rate far less expensive than the typical broker. Clear, lien free title and 3 keys, ready to go. Included is the window sticker, maintenance log, extensive service records, ect. I have driven 100's of 560's and this car is very tight and drives excellent. I wouldn't be afraid to drive it anywhere. Here is a few tips on buying a R107. Don't buy a car with no service records, that is akin to marrying a woman you met last night and know nothing about. Carfax and Autocheck should be spotless. Timing chain and rails should have been replaced. The plastics degrade over time and fall apart, with age, not mileage, and when they do fail, it turns your engine into a paper weight. To do properly, this is a $2,500 maintenance item that needs to be done on every SL. Don't waste your time on a car that does NOT have this done. Or budget accordingly. Moreover, the subframe mounts are made of a similar polymer and degrade as well, leaving your SL not driving as rigid as it should. You might not even realize it is a issue until you drive a SL with new subframe mounts :-) Below is a video of me ranting about these items and a little bit of a buyers guide on these cars. I have been around them for a very long time and have owned over 100 of them. Please, if you don't buy this car buy a car that has been mechanically gone through, so you don't end up with a paperweight engine or are ridden with downtime while your car is in getting deferred maintenance taken care of.
