This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION. Please only bid if you intend on buying, thanks.Up for auction today is a 1973 Porsche 911 T restoration project. This car was just pulled out from over 10 years of storage where it was not touched or covered. It was a very nice car when parked just before the owner passed away. I am not familiar with the early Porsche 911’s so I will have undoubtedly overlooked some key areas of concern so please feel free to ask questions and I can email or text pictures as you need. I also have an Apple phone if you would like to use Facetime video chat. I have pictures of the data plates for you to decode to your satisfaction, please use those for your references. The body is quite straight and it appears to be an honest car. I do not see any obvious signs of prior collision repair. The paint is worn out and the car deserves a full restoration quality repaint. The trim is in good overall condition as this was a very nice car prior to being parked. As far as rust, the typical rust in the front pan is present. From what I can see, the pans are in good condition, see pics. The paint in the wheel wells, door jams and trunk is in surprisingly nice condition with no obvious signs of rust bubbling. Inside the carpet has obviously been removed. It was stained and frayed from 10+ years of exposure. The seats are in surprisingly good condition but the front buckets do show some wear. If someone were looking for a driver it would easily be nice enough with a new carpet kit and some small trim items. This 911 was only recently rescued. When I bought it, it had not run for 10 years. I removed the plugs, lubed the cylinders and pre-oiled the motor and let the engine sit for a day. Luckily the previous owner had used Stabil and the gas hadn’t turned to varnish. I did drain the system and add new fuel along with Redline fuel treatment to help lube the injection system. The next day I then cranked the engine over to clean out the cylinders, replaced the plugs, cleaned the point contacts and the engine fired up. I didn’t replace the wires or other ignition components but that would be part of a restoration. The engine sounds healthy with no observed knocks or noises. I used Valvoline Racing oil for its additive package. However, I would recommend disassembling the engine to check everything out after sitting that long. The replaceable spiral paper/aluminum foil air ducting is rotted and will need replaced. I have not run the engine very long continuously (maybe 3-5 minutes at a time) due to that. The clutch works ok and the transmission shifts easily. The brakes need rebuilt. The emergency brake works somewhat and there is a tiny bit of brake pedal but not enough to drive. Again, this is not ready to be driven. The headlight switch is broken and will need replaced so I haven't tested the lights. The stereo is in place but does not work. The turn signals and safety flashers work, the wipers work, the heater motor currently work. Obviously the batteries were dead after sitting that long. They were replaced with a pair of new units. They still have the factory protective caps for the terminals but will need new hold down straps. The wheels, including the matching spare, appear to be in good condition. They cleaned up easily from sitting and look great. The tires were basically new when it was parked and they look to be in good condition but are now 10+ years old. The factory tool kit is included with the car.I want to let the auction run its course on this car so we can see what the real value is. This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION. So, please bid to win.I recommend Mike's Discount Auto Transport for shipping the car. Their number is 888-671-9285. They offer the best prices and customer service in the industry. On May-24-17 at 18:32:07 PDT, seller added the following information: I attached a few pics of the floors. I cleaned off the floor pan and I was amazed at the condition of the floor pan. Unfortunately the front pan suffered the worst due to the bonnet being left ajar. If you need any specific pictures, please let me know and I will get them to you.
