Up for auction is this 1976 Buick Riviera S/R, comes with a 455 cu in 205 HP big block motor. Burgundy on Red velour interior. This is somewhat of a rare model for the Riviera class type of car. Only 1619 built with the S/R designation for the 4th generation build. Car runs and drives good. Was used as a daily driver up until 2 years ago. Motor runs smooth and quiet, transmission shifts and drives good. Car needs some TLC under the hood and in the interior. Body and paint are OK. Rear bumper filler needs to be replaced and can be purchased for approx. $300 USD. Interior is in quite good condition, only minor issues with the wood trim in the steering wheel, all gauges work, seat upholstery is in excellent condition, all seat belts are present. Driver door and passenger door arm bolster is damaged due to cracking of the vinyl. (See pics). Vinyl roof is showing some wear no damage other than the fading of the vinyl. Chrome bumpers are decent with no rust or cracks in the chrome. Remainder of chrome is in decent condition. Underbody of the car is solid. No signs of punky floors or major frame rot. Has the factory custom styled wheels and new tires. This car is basically an original with the original motor, transmission and rear end. The car has seen paint somewhere in the life line of its existence. This car would be a great candidate for a restoration for someone that likes these era of vehicles and model design. The Buick Riviera S/R model was only built in 1976 and in limited numbers of which this is one of 1619 built. A rare find and treat to drive a relic of a 70's era of vehicles when manufacturing was at its peak in the older grand tourer class of cars.
