!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fiat Lovers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1970 Fiat 850 RACERRare. I've read there may be only 12 of these in the USA?? Your guess is good as mine.I picked this car up back in 1993-94 and drove it once. After that I sold it to a friend who kept it in a hog barn with pea gravel floor until I dragged it out here 3 months ago. It was out of the elements all that time but far from a dry climate.My late Father was a Fiat mechanic in the '70's and I remember him saying they had a lot of these 850's rust coming over to the US on top of ships. I don't know how this one survived so far.Fiat had a buy back program too if I recall correctly.Any way it does start from cold with a little help from starting fluid. It does run but you'd probably want to go through the motor. Obviously it has typical oil pressure for these 850's. Low at idle and upwards of 50psi as revs climb. I've owned 4 in the past. Goes through the gears. I've driven it very slowly around the block. !!!!!!! THERE are no brakes !!! No E brake either !! Yes someone before me cut into the roof ???? ugh! Yes the wheels will need longer studs to properly bolt onto car. They were put on so it could be pushed around. Yes someone welded angle iron and sheets of steel here and there. Expect the worse!Most of the switches and gauges work. Wipers work. I've got an electric fuel pump rigged up just to run it. This vehicle is being sold as a restoration needed project. It WILL need new floors, new front valance, inner and outer panels replaced or patched, New interior, New braking system. I don't the extent of any other work required.
