Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1995 Carrera which I have owned since July 2009. It is a Tiptronic, but it has always been driven (by me) in manual mode. Although the original paint was not too bad, the Iris Blue paint was refreshed in 2014. Iris Blue is a very luminescent color and is very striking in sunlight. The BBS wheels are original and are in good shape. I repaired some road rash on the rears but I did a poor job and the buyer may want to redo. No one does that kind of work locally. It has been lowered with H&R springs, which negatively affected the ride but significantly improved handling. No engine mods except a minor airbox mod to improve breathing, done by Pat Williams in Memphis. The mufflers were swapped out for stock ones that were cut open and modified to improve exhaust flow (Fister Stage III I believe). The sound is somewhat aggressive, so if you are looking for a purring Porsche, this one isn’t for you. It has been lightly tracked in 3-4 PCA DE events with no incidents. No body mods except for the addition of the RS splitters in front. Front tower brace has been installed to improve handling. Front floor mats have been covered with Rennline track mats. The car has been well maintained with only a couple of issues of which I am aware: The airbag light is on and has been since I purchased the car. The prior owner had a dealer look at it but could not find the source of the problem. I purchased a Diametric diagnostic unit (enthusiast) and will include it with the car. I used it to diagnose the airbag light and the ABS light, which came on a while back. The ABS light was corrected by the replacement of both relays, but I did not attempt to tackle the airbag issue. I do not trust anyone local to tackle it and my mechanical skills are elementary at best. There is a battery discharge issue which I have not tried to correct. The battery goes down if the car is not driven for a week or two. I do not drive the car much anymore so I just hook up a trickle charger. Recent work includes: Replaced the hood when an unknown event caused a dent that could not be repaired.AC refresh - replaced evaporator temp sensor (dealer).New plugs and wires at 79,500 miles (2015). At the same time the valve cover gaskets and the timing cover gaskets were replaced.
