Up for auction is a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible. This convertible is in good condition and a real "barn find"...a restoration project started 24 years ago and not finished..and so it has been sitting in this garage since 1993. A stock car with a rebuilt 327 and bored out 30 over. The engine has about 6,000 miles on it and the car has 57,879 miles on it. The transmission is missing as it was discarded when found inoperable. The frame is solid..doors have appropriate spacing from the pillars and open and close nicely. The quarters, fenders, trunk, and hood are in great shape and only need refinishing. The floors including the trunk have surface rust where the undercoating has flaked off, but are solid with no rust through or sections replaced. The body for the most part is also solid except for the driver's side door, which has two rust through spots at the corners that need some metal work. Also the right side leading edge of the outside/inner rocker panel also needs some metal work..you can see a small 2x3 " cut out in the photo where that metal work was started. The automatic top is new to the car and still appears to be in very good condition. The interior will have to be replaced, as the seats, door panels and dash pad have dried out. There are 5 original rally hub caps and 7 rims. All the parts are there and bolts and attaching hardware are bagged and ready to be used for reassembly. The owner even saved the hole cutout from the hood, so it could be welded back. A great father/son restoration project to be had for sure! Maybe get this one restored for summer!
