1978 Triumph Bonneville Custom Café Racer. This bike is the REAL DEAL! Not a modern recreation or a stock Bonneville with café bars. Engine bored and freshened with new pistons and rings less than 50 miles ago. Here is a list of some of the work done. - Welded reinforced frame and pressure tested. (oil in frames were known for leaks)- New swing arm bushings- Cases cleaned and new timing side crank bearing.- Brake cylinders changed- Calipers changed- Hoses changed- Wheels off 1979 Bonneville Special with Veglia drive and speedo head (cast wheels run truer than spoke)- English version gas tank with knee rubbers and badges ordered directly from England.- Rear section custom made by FastGlass in Florida.- 1968 Headlight unit.- Font fender from 1977 Bonneville.- Clubman handlebars with Suzuki risers.- Master cylinder from 2006 Bonneville- Head was machined for level, .080 thick head gasket (cooper)- Pushrod tubes is undersized "o" rings and wedding band gaskets- New valve guides with Norton seals on intakes- Valves ground and cleaned- Bored cylinders for .020 pistons with .004 clearance- 9.5 to 1/comp. JCC pistons with Hastings rings- Mikuni Carbs on extended spigots on head- Spigots on exhaust side to accept the 650 older style exhaust pipes- Exhaust are Stainless Steel Dunstalls- Transmission 1st gear cluster replaced as well as clutch rod- Hold down bolts and clutch springs and clutch friction plates replaced- New Primary triple roller chain replaced- New stator and spring magnet- Battery eliminator Spanx unit- New points (changed to negative ground)- Front fairing is Emco 1/4 fairing.- Brass British front license plate (pedestrian slicer)- Also vintage British racing fairing included. (see pictures) As you can see A LOT of money and time was spent on this build. Bike comes with a current CT registration (bikes older than 25 years do not have title in CT) which is all you need to get a new title in any state. NO RESERVE!! Good luck bidding.
