My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GT sedan. I would rate the exterior of this Pontiac to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. As you can see, this is a good looking sedan. It is finished in a dark tan metallic with matching tan leather interior. The finish has a mile deep shine and looks as smooth as glass. As with any older vehicle, please expect to find a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. On this Grand Prix, the only thing worth mentioning on the exterior is a scrape mark on the right side skirt...which I put there by not paying attention. Other than that, you'd be hard pressed to find anything worth complaining about on the exterior. The body lines are all nice and straight. The hood, doors and trunk all open and close easily. All of the glass and lenses are intact. All of the trim and body cladding are present and show well. Being a Grand Prix GT, this sedan has the lower front lip with integrated fog lights as well as contoured side skirts, lower rear lip with dual exhaust and a rear spoiler. All of which give this sedan an aggressive look. The factory polished alloy wheels show well and are wrapped in a nice set of rubber with good tread all around. Please take the time to check out each of the photos carefully to see how clean this Pontiac looks inside and out. I would also rate the interior of this Grand Prix GT to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. The door panels are clean and tight. The dash and headliner are clean. The carpets are clean and full looking throughout the interior. A full set of factory floor mats are included, too. The leather seats are clean, comfortable and show minimal wear. The driver's seat is heated. The power windows, locks, mirrors and sunroof all work properly. The stereo is the original AM/FM CD, which has steering wheel audio controls and sounds great. The display on the radio doesn't come on, but all of the functions seem to be working fine and you can see the station and everything else you need to see through the heads up display, so no biggie. The climate control system also appears to be working properly. It offers independent settings for the driver and passenger. It's too cold out to be able to personally verify that the air conditioner is working effectively but I can tell you first hand that the heater works perfectly. The trunk is spacious and clean. Mechanically, this Grand Prix GT appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 3.8L V6 starts easily and runs smoothly. I haven't noticed any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are good for an older car. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. You can hear a small rattle coming from the back portion of the car. It sounds like the muffler just bumping around as the car moves...probably just a broken exhaust hanger or something stupid. The engine keeps perfect temperature and feels strong. The 3.8L V6 is a great engine. It was an old AMC design GM had laying around but never used. In the early 80's they needed a V6 engine for their new FWD platform and they remembered they had this engine so they decided to use it, rather than designing something new. Little did they know, this would prove to be one of their best engines ever. It saw a service life of about 20 years, which is unheard of, and was used in dozens of cars and minivans over it's life. There have been no idiot lights on during my road test. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts normally. Please keep in mind that this is an older car using even older technology...so shifts are sometimes a little abrupt, but it doesn't do anything stupid that would give me cause for immediate concern. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with no complaints. If you're looking for an inexpensive full sized sedan, one of these should do the trick. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
