This is my 1999 Mercedes-Benz SL500 With 50,084 original miles that I am selling with no reserve. It recently went through New Jersey inspection passed with no issues. The car has all of its original paint with some touchups on the front bumper that is also missing the tow hook cover. I just had it out today and the engine and trans felt and sounded like new! The AC blows cold, wipers,lights, radio,and power options work fine, and it has brand new floor mats. The black soft top looks like it has never seen the light of day and is in near perfect condition, and the color matching hard top is included too. There is a hydraulic fluid leak on the pass side of the car, I suspect it is one or more of the hydraulic cylinder gaskets that have dried up from lack of use. I have purchased the kit to replace the seals and more fluid which I will include in this auction. I don't have the time or knowledge to correctly fix it so that will be up to the new buyer. Every R129 SL has had or will have this issue. The next person to operate the top needs to be the person fixing it! The wheels and tires are in poor condition. The chrome is flaking off of the wheels but they look to be a good canidate for refinishing and the tires have some cracking. The wheels currently have plastic dip on them to hide the ugly chrome, it can easily be peeled off. The drivers side view mirror glass is foggy, the hood insulation pad is deteriorating and should be replaced, there is a normal amount of minor paint flaws with only a notable scratch where the hard top was improperly installed on the rear pass side, the drivers side seat has bolster wear from getting in and out, and the keyless entry seems to lock fine but the key is needed for unlocking for some reason. I am very picky and trying to be brutally honest as I do not want there to be any suprises for the new owner. This is a great looking and running car that will surely be a great deal for someone.
