Vehicle Detail
This car was owned for 31 years from my friend/business partner. The original owner is in his 70's and didn't drive the car for the past 6 years. He did start it once in a while. I jokingly made an offer last April and Joe said okay. I got the car cheap, put a new battery in it, did an oil change and drove it to a tire place and had RE-11's mounted. My plan was to fix a few small things, re-upholster the seats and keep it but I don't have time for it and I don't drive it much either. I did buy lots of parts that the "100 things to do to your Porsche" book suggested and I have those parts which are: brass pedal bushings, steering column bushing, shifter bushing, hood cable, deck lid cable, and HD hood & deck lid shocks. I did not order the small leather strap that holds up a back seat that I broke recently. My wife and I did take part in a Porsche weekend with Indiana and Kentucky chapters. we won 2nd place (informal people choice voting) out of 35 cars that were there. The car looks really good. it does have modifications and is not the true Porsche owner's ideal car but it looks very good. Modifications in 1994 by original owner: -H4 Euro Headlights -Momo steering wheel - 3.4L big bore kit w/ ecu chip (everyone notices the rumble is not the normal 3.2L and the car is a fast as my friend's 85 turbo) - Full race suspension including heavy torsion bars. - C2 body kit w/ whale tale - BBS Wheels - full repaint same as factory Guards Red The Good: The above listed modifications Beautiful re-paint Original Engine Original Interior Original Dash (Except: Stereo Replaced) Clock works most of the time??? Original Carpet Original Floormats are worn NO RUST as car has always been garaged. exhaust cross over tube does have some surface rust but no where else. ***RELIABLE*** - The car smoked on first few startups in April and had a few drips but I have put on 2,000 miles with no smoke or leaks. Starts right up and can be daily driven from day 1 ***NO ACCIDENTS*** Only Service History I got from original owner: 7/2/2010 @ 164,098 miles; Valve guides and valve job, all belts, all sensors, oil lines, front brake discs, pads, sensors & bearings, New Spark Box, New Spark Plugs, New Coil, New Fuel Pump, New Fuel Filter, Oil Change, New Oil Filter. Imperfections: A/C Blows, but not cold. May just need a recharge; not sure (car sat for 6 years and I wouldn't use A/C anyway Steering Wheel plastic bushing disintegrated. I have new nylon bushing not installed. Driver Seat is worn on entry side bolster (joe is fat and I am big..fat) My plan was to replace with leather but new owner may want something different. MINOR rock chips on front bumper very small dent on passenger fender 3" deep scratch (through the paint but not through the primer) on driver fender by fuel door. 1" swirl mark on driver door (could be buffed). 2 chips and 2 slight cracks in paint on rear bumper. Leather strap broke that holds up rear seat. this is a $5.00 item from PelicanParts.com The tool kit is there but tools look like they were left outside for a few days and the air pump for the spare is missing. On Feb-16-17 at 15:48:03 PST, seller added the following information: ***EBAYERS, please read*** A prospective buyer had a PPI done on this car and the shop reported that there is a leaking ring which would require the top to stop the leak. The shop quoted $6,000.00 to repair. The car does not leak enough to leak on the ground but does explain why the underside is dirty after 3,000 miles. The shop reported that the car runs and drives great and that there is no harm in driving the car as-is but will require adding more oil than normal. Two other items were noted; sway bar links need replaced and shifter bushings would tighten up shifting action. I contacted all bidders and people who asked questions to let them know and the bidder retracted his bid. I am going to let this auction run its course in-case someone wants it as it is. I may decide to fix the car or re-list it after exploring some options. Please accept my apologies for any inconveniences.
