As you most likely know this takes a charge and goes around 38-45 miles depending on your foot. Then the 1.4L engine kicks in automatically, you don't even notice. and goes for another 300 miles. So no worries about a charge. The Volt charges on a normal outlet in your wall. So if you travel daily around 40 miles and charge at night you never have to fill up.
