You have one more chance to get the world's best SL55. NO RESERVE! This is a relist due to non-payment. Please read the complete listing and call before you select buy it now. 7028349623. I have had several offers, THIS is my bottom line on the vehicle. $36,500.00. If I don't get it this week. I will just keep it. You won't find a better SL55, and if you're on the fence between getting an SL65, SL63 or an SL55. Read my description below. I also encourage a pre-purchase inspection. Show my listing to any knowledgeable Mercedes AMG certified mechanic and see if they don't agree with me in regards to the reliability of the M113k motor over the M275, and the M156. Trust me, even if you don't buy my vehicle read the listing and do not purchase a NA 6.2 AMG or even a M275 unless you enjoy wasting money. Thanks (: Mercedes Eurocharged SL55 AMG 750hp SL65 conversion low miles 30k in mods Check out the video of the best sounding SL55 on the planet. Might even be the best sounding Mercedes of all time. You be the judge. Let me preface this by saying I am in no hurry to sell this car. Please call me at 7028349623 with any questions. I can say with absolute certainty this is one of the best SL's in the country at this very moment especially for the price. I have owned over 15 AMG vehicles in the past 15 years and I know these 55's very well. You would have a hard time finding any car on the planet that would compete with this at its current state in regards to perception value, reliability, and performance. I am aware of what these cars sell for as I have been watching the market on them every week. Trust me when I say there isn’t one like this in the country right now for sale. In no way does it look like a 2003 with 56k miles. I spent a lot of time and money to make this car what it is today. It's lived it's whole life in California and mostly the desert of Vegas. Let me clarify if you read the listing you will see title will show salvaged. The previous owner had a small front passenger quarter panel hit at about 15mph, and because of any reported accident in the state of California it will be put it as a salvaged vehicle. Most uninformed buyers don't understand what this means. The airbags were never deployed. This is the reason I completed the conversion to a 2011 body. The car has no structural or frame issues. I wouldn't have purchased the vehicle if there were any issues. California's laws are very strict, you can have a serious accident or a fender bender. Either way the title will show as salvaged. If it was totaled it would not be able to be resold. Also don't e-mail with KBB values either. Nobody uses KBB anymore, banks or sellers. All banks will loan on NADA values. DON’T CONTACT ME WITH STUPID OFFERS, NO THIRD PARTY MARKETING SALES CALLS. NO JOY RIDES FOR THE LOCALS.

Go ahead compare this to any other SL55 on the market. Onto the listing:

Let me tell you a story of this vehicle and how it came to be. I started back in 2000 with an original first year ML55 AMG which I still have with over 200,000 miles, then I decided to pick up an E39 M5, and had nothing but issues from Vanos leaks, to two blown Dinan clutches, nothing but reliability issues with BMW, but that's another story. So I ventured off into the E55 W211 world and owned 4 of them. Loved every one and had no problems with any of them, just kept getting offers for more than they were worth and just kept re-buying them. So then I purchased a 2004 SL600 and loved it, sold it, then purchased an SL65 2005 loved it, but sold it for more to Dubai. I did however have issues with the acclaimed M275 6.0 V12 biturbo. An amazing car, but all 65's will have to encounter a 21 hours of labor for engine mounts and coil packs at 1600.00 a pop and there are 4 coil packs. Not only that it's heavier in the nose and doesn't handle nearly as good as the SL55. It may have gobs more torque, but that's about it. I can say that it's reliability will be second to the the V8 kompressor. The M275 engine is a very reliable motor, but with 2 little problems. When the turbo's go, it's another 20 hours of labor. The superchargers are very reliable. Some complained of the clutched pulley failing, but that is a cheap and easy fix, which I have never experience. A supercharged car will always be more reliable than a turbo car. The 63 motor is the worst of them all. Just google the reliability of the E63 etc... There was a class action lawsuit against Mercedes in regards to the horrible reliability of the M156 engine. I still reluctantly bought the ML63, it seemed to have less problems due to the all wheel drive system putting less strain on the transmission as well as the engine. But I also then sold it within a few months after reading all the horror stories of that engine and tranny. With that forever looming in the back of my mind I decided to go back to the reliable, time tested 55 platform and picked up a Sl55 with only 33k miles with a small fender bender and decided to see If I could have reliability, but still have the same performance of the SL65. To me this car is the convergence of everything good about Mercedes. The answer was a resounding yes. So before I sold it, I decided to run both cars and with both having the max performance mods, the SL55 pulled ever slightly on the SL65 on the HWY. So I sold it and then began the transformation of a "proper" R230 conversion to a 09-11. Personally to me the 03-08 R230 is a classic design, but why not have the perception value and looks of a 09-11 R230 without the limitations and reliability drawbacks of the NA 6.2 V8 or V12 Biturbo. Even the new E63 5.5 Twin turbos are already have clutch issues and sensor issues. Yeah you can get 900hp+ out of the motor, but how reliable long term is the question that hasn't been answered yet. Mercedes is building these newer cars way too complicated with too many sensors. And every sensor is hard coded on the news ones, so it makes DIY'ers a thing of the past. I think Mercedes styling was at it's best during 09-11 time period before the dreaded facelift of the 12 and on up with the snub-nosed R231. On paper everyone can agree that stock for stock the SL65 is a superior in the performance department, however when both are modded to their max, the SL55 turns into another animal. If you throw everything, including the kitchen sink like I have at the 55k engine it completely opened it up and will compete and at some speeds best a modded 65. I think the video included best shows what the 55 can do when it's been properly modded. My SL65 had turbo downpipes, full exhaust, and intake and tune. That's the ceiling for the 65's, until you port and polish the turbo's or replace them, but hands down the 55k motor is more reliable and time tested. Just check out the guy on youtube with a same year E55 with 400k miles. The 63 engine, nor the acclaimed M275 will ever be this reliable. You can see a video here: My SL55 has Long Tube headers, 85mm TB, custom intake, ron davis intercooler, johnson pump, ECU/TCU re-mapping, in addition to a 168mm lower crank pulley, and a fixed 74mm fixed supercharger pulley, custom exhaust, etc... This is was the sweet zone combo that gave me ridiculous torque and performance but did not get hot. Unlike with the SL65 you can really only tune and do exhaust, that's pretty much all you can do to the M275 without replacing turbos or having them ported. So you can see it costs a lot more to get a 55 up to snubs with a 65. I have always loved Mercedes and AMG's since the early 2000's. I can say unequivocally and without a doubt the M113 and K engines in coupled with the 722.6 5 speeds are Mercedes best built engine and tranny combo, period. 2 of my 55 k's have gone 200k miles with no issues on power plant. I think most that have owned them will agree with me. I recently sold a ML63 with the M156 engine. The vehicle was perfect, and a joy to drive but something about all the engine and 722.9 transmission issues just stuck in my mind. I have talked to my close AMG mechanics and read on forums about the issues with dry lifters, to Cam seats, to Head bolts. The car didn't have any of those issues, I just didn't trust it. In addition to almost all 2007 on up 7 speed 722.9 transmissions suffered a Valve body issue as well as failed clutch packs. Now don't get me wrong the NA 6.2 engine was and is an incredible piece of technology, but all almost universally agree that the 55k engine was superior in reliability, and even performance. I think that's why Mercedes best car the Mclaren SLR had a variant of the M113k block in it. Just like the new 63's are back to the old 5.5 block. Although the new ones may put out great HP with the Turbo's have not been time tested to see if they will suffer the same reliability issued as the M156 6.2 NA. So with that long winded story told I can now tell you the details of one of my all time favorite cars. I am sure many of you have come across many trying to sell R230's with cheap Chinese wide body kits. They may look good in pictures from afar, but up close they don't look right, and they don't fit right, the wheels don't fit properly in the arches, and molding and gaps are at times laughable. They are usually cheap ABC plastic or some kind of wavy composite material. So with that in mind this SL55 was getting only factory OEM parts. Since the 03-08 share the same identical R230 chassis as the 09-11. I figured the more expensive route was to get a factory hood, fenders, grille, headlights, exhaust, rear bumper from a 2011 SL65. So as you can see in the pictures, the quality is there and looks stock, albeit slightly modified. So everything on the car has been modified with factory Mercedes OEM parts. As you can see by the records the car had a small fender bender in the right front quarter and low speeds before the conversion. It was only superficial damage to one fender, but was recorded. The car has been meticulously maintained not a dent on her, with all fluids and oil done in a timely manner. The body and paint are perfect, rear carbon diffuser and carbon fiber spoiler. Just like with the engine and tranny, these cars will last forever if you do the fluids. People are always scared of the ABC suspension, but honestly if you do the hydraulic fluid every 40k miles you won't have any issues. The car puts down about 750hp to the crank which equates to about 600+ to the rear tires. These engines love being driven and up to RPM. I own 3 other 55k cars, and figured it's time to let one go. The 55k is the only car I will ever own. Now for the modifications: It has a Kleeman 168mm Crank pulley, belt wrap, 74 fixed upper, Long Tube Headers, full exhaust, and Xpipe, Custom intake, 85mm throttle body, Ron Davis intercooler, Johnson IC pump, ECU/TCU re-mapping from Eurocharged + the kitchen sink. She pulls like a sledgehammer! The brakes are brand new, new rotors, carbon pads, wheels brand new SLS wheels, had Hoosiers but just put new R888 Race tires on all 4 corners. They are the stickiest street tires money can buy with a UTQG of 100. The top articulates perfectly, no leaks on anything including the suspension. The car was not beaten on just driven like it was meant to. Why buy a new Mercedes, Bmw, or Audi when this SL55 will humiliate them? A pristine SL55 maintained and done correctly. I see a lot of SL55s with horrible wheels, body kits, and silly grills. This is how an Sl55 should look, sound, and perform. This is a pristine car not including the $30k in mods. The countless hours installing these doesn't even come close. If you want the fastest hardtop convertible on the road you have come to the right place. The car has never been abused just driven like it's supposed to be. Garage queen cars are far more prone to issues then vehicles that are properly driven. No leaks, no check engine lights, will pass all emissions, suspension, leather, carpet, everything is perfect. Transmission fluid and oil change just done. The pads are ceramic on the 8 piston calipers. The car is in pristine condition. There is not a luxury sedan under $200,000.00 that will touch this car. All car manufacturers like Cadillac and BMW are still trying to play catch up from 14 years from the inception of this beast. If you search YouTube for the last 14 years you will see the countless kills on Z06 Corvette’s, Porsche’s, Ferrari’s M5’s. I know everything about this car inside and out.

Yes, the car does have the factory Xenon's. Few cars can match the SL55's sheer technological density, most of which is so thoroughly integrated as to be invisible and, perhaps, unappreciated. What you cannot help but appreciate is the endless well of power that this car has. That's why I love it. It will pull a 10 second quarter mile time, and 0-60 in low 3’s. The car is a beast of a vehicle.
