Vehicle Detail

This good news is that this car is an original Y-82 Starlight Black/Gold Special Edition Pontiac Trans Am with black interior. This car has all the desirable options including the 400 h.p. 4bbl. L-78 engine, 4-speed, Hurst T-Tops, Power windows, power locks, custom trim A/C etc. As far as I can tell the drive train is all original. (Block is stamped WA and heads are 6X)This car runs and drives. The motor has headers and an Edelbrock intake and runs strong. The shifter linkage works but needs adjustment. The bad news is this car needs total restoration. The quarter panels and floor pans have rust as well as the front drivers fender and door. The car is missing the A/C pump, windshield and back window trim, headliner and 8 track and some of the ground effect and/or flares. The car has the original honeycomb wheels. The T-Tops look to be in good shape. Someone replaced the drivers seat with the right seat but the wrong color. I would be happy to answer questions but want to be honest and emphasis that this car needs work but is one of the best canidates for restoration as it is the one of the rarest and most desirable Trans Ams. Parts are readily available and when you get done restoring it you will have a very valuable T/A. I have the complete PHS Automotive Services package that will be included in the sale. Car is located in Montana and I can possibly deliver to the Western U.S. for an additional charge. On Nov-29-16 at 19:21:57 PST, seller added the following information: Please note that the mileage on this car is unknown. I had trouble with the listing as it would not let me put a non numeric mileage. I.e. unknown. On Dec-05-16 at 17:08:16 PST, seller added the following information: Good news! I put the Trans Am up on a lift today. The Serial numbers on the engine block and transmission are numbers matching to the car. i.e. this is the original engine and transmission that the car was born with. Please see photos. I also attached photos of the undercarriage of the car. The under side of the car is much better than expected. I do not see any pin holes or rust in the rear frame rails or rear floor pans but there is some light surface rust as shown in the photos. There is rust in the front floor pans and they will likely need to be replaced or patched. I am thinking that the T-tops leaked over a period of time and got the front carpets wet which ultimately resulted in the front floor pans rusting. Both exterior lower quarter panels need to be replaced as well as the very rear panel (at each end) behind the leaf springs as you can see in the photos. Most Montana cars have limited rust as we don't use salt on our roads. I took photos of the buck tag and other misc. photos as well. Besides the rust I described or you see in the photos I think the car is actually pretty solid. I am trying to give an honest assessment so there is always a possibility of some small rust spots that my mechanic and I didn't see. Please let me know if you have any questions before the bid ends on Tuesday evening. I have received a number of emails asking me to end the auction early but I want everyone to have a fair shot at the car. The car will go to the highest bidder! Good luck!
