Up for auction is a 1986 Porsche 944 in excellent condition. The car was purchased in early 1987 and driven 20k miles by first owner. The second owner drove the car about 3k miles per year for 19 years. I have complete service records from 1989 to present. I purchased the car in Sept. 2009 with 79k miles, and it now has 104k miles. Complete mpg records, oil change, and all other service records are available. I purchased the car in excellent condition, and gave it a major tune up. First, a compression check indicated 160 psi in each of 4 cylinders. I replaced all fluids and filters – not PS fluid, as the power steering components were recently replaced. I replaced timing belt (and have receipt), spark plugs, cap and rotor, motor mounts and greased front wheel bearings. The car has always passed state safety inspection. Recent work includes a new clutch, catalytic converter, strut cartridges (Sachs) and renewing the stone guards. Service from last year includes a master cylinder, a slave cylinder and AC recharge. Car has no fluid leaks. The wheels are the original 15 inch Fuchs wheels that are in excellent condition and apparently highly valued, according to eBay listings. The car drives as it should and has obtained 29 to 30 mpg over several thousand miles, with all highway driving. The body and paint are in excellent condition, but there are some light scratches on the top, and a small ding behind the passenger side front wheel – see pic. Mechanically, the car is in excellent condition with no issues on the motor, clutch, trans./diff., or elsewhere. The AC blows cold and was recently recharged, but I expect that it is not quite as cold as when new. The interior is dark brown leather and overall is very good. Floor mats are original and in very good condition. There are three dash cracks that came with the car, and I have installed a dash cover. The car top raises and lowers electronically, and is removable. The windows work as expected, as does other electronics. The car is all original except for the radio/cd player.
