Vehicle Detail
1982 Indianapolis Pace Car Camaro Z28 in Original condition and running great. I purchased this car from a classic car dealership in 2008 with 15,473 original miles. The odometer now reads 15,827 miles. That's No mistake, I only drove it 354 miles in eight years. I changed the oil, transmission fluid, and did a tune up the first week I got it. In addition, I only use high test gas and change the oil and filter annually. I went to a few car shows, drove it in a couple of parades and to and from the gas station. Growing up this was my dream car and I finally was able to afford to buy one in 2008. Unfortunately, family, work and other responsibilities never really allowed me to enjoy it like it was meant to be. Basically it was a garage trophy for the time I owned it. I would start it up one or twice a month and drive it around the block. This is one of the very few 1982 Pace Cars that does NOT have the Problematic Crossfire Fuel Injection. I opted for the regular carbureted V8 that can be serviced if necessary. The only parts that I have replaced on this vehicle are: The battery, tires, and hood hold-ups(that need to be replaced again.) The tires only have 354 miles. As can be seen in the photos, the interior is extremely nice and shows little to no wear considering the vintage of this car. There are no tears or rips in the fabric or leather. The dash is super with no cracks or other obnoxious flaws. The carpet is also super nice. Some of the vinyl molding around the inside of the hatch back and rear seats show color loss from sun fade. The T-top bag is included and in very good shape. Also, a Cover Craft Noah car cover is included. Being 34 years old this car has a few issues I will detail below. The air conditioning doesn't work, never has for me, brakes could be more sensitive (I hear a click in the front right when applying brakes), that's about all I know of. Never used the cassette or cruise control so that is an unknown. The engine runs strong and transmission shifts correctly. I notice oil drips on my garage floor, occasionally. I am one of the those people who like to leave well enough alone and accepted a few small oil spots. Cosmetically there are some age and use related imperfections. One door has a large ding, one outer door lock is missing the outer decorative ring, the weather stripping is drying out and starting crumble in a few places. I have never removed the T-tops, not even once so I am not sure about the seals. There are no water leaks in the car. The stickers / decals are starting to show their age. There is some peeling around the edges and one area on the bottom front fender one of the decals are starting to bunch up(dedicated photo.) There are some small nicks, scratches, and dings here and there. As far as I know this is an original example. Original window sticker and bill of sale included. Please don't expect a concours restored car or one that is showroom fresh. What I can state is that this Camaro is a Very Nice Original vehicle that is 34 years old. It's definitely a head turner.
