1976 Dodge 300, 1 ton, 4X4 Wrecker/Tow Truck. These old 4X4 trucks are getting hard to find, and this one is in pretty nice condition for it's age. It runs and drives good with the exception of the carburetor needing rebuilt. It will idle fine, but dies out under acceleration due to the accelerator pump being dried out. The engine runs nice, with no taps, noises or smoke, the clutch, brakes, 4 wheel drive, wrecker apparatus, exhaust (stainless steel pipes) etc. are all in good working condition The lights and emergency/parking brake work. Horn and radio are not working. This truck was built into a wrecker in 1980. I've known this truck for years and bought it from the owner/builder's estate. It hasn't been used for over a year. The front tires are dry rotted and cracked, but the rear tires, which are all matching recaps are okay. The frame was gusseted on the bottom, the heavy duty front bumper, light bars and rear hitch were all custom made. The rocker panels and floorboards have been replaced. The side toolboxes on the wrecker body are rusted out, but the rest of the truck is good. I've included pictures of the toolboxes, a few dents in the roof, and a small amount of rust at the top of the windshield. Dodge guys know where to look. It's pretty minor for the age of the truck. I prefer to let the auction work and not disclose the reserve price, which I believe to be very reasonable. Please Bid to buy, and only bid if you have a decent rating and feedback.
