Vehicle Detail
1966 Chevrolet Corvair Monza 900 Convertible If you have been waiting for the right one to come along and tired of looking at project cars and junk, your wait is over!!! Description: Absolutely “Box Stock” except for the following; Radial WSW tires (less than 1500 miles), aftermarket AM/FM Stereo radio and the paint color. Original was Regal Red, now Corvette Victory Red. This is a much brighter and more brilliant red. The paint job and prep cost one half of what I want for the whole car. This car was originally and still is, red with a white convertible top and white interior with black carpet and painted trim. All seats, carpet and top “boot” are new the past 2 years. Most of the replacement parts are from Clark's Corvairs. Body tag decoded below: Built 4th week of May, 1966 prod. # 8926 of 10,345 Monza Convertibles built at the Willow Run, MI plant in 1966. Pt code 795 (Red) R-1 Red body/white cv top Opts. M20 4 speed, Z01 Comfort & Convenience Group, A02 tinted W/S, Posi-traction, AM PB radio now AM/FM Stereo, 2 speed electric wipers, outside rear view mirrors-dual, day/night rear view mirror, correct optional 1966 Corvair 13” wire wheel covers, WSW P185/80R13 Maxxis Radial tires. VIN 105676W163535 Clean & Clear Texas title in my name. Approx. 51,951 miles believed true but unverifiable due to age, some added daily due to use. A lot of little detailed things you only do if you plan to keep, not sell a car. The list is too long to include here, but a few important items replaced are all interior, motor Mts, belt, tires, brakes, tune up, shifter shaft oil seal, oil pan gasket, lots of rubber parts and the inside engine compartment sound absorbing mat plus I sealed the interior floor and exterior with POR-15 then used aviation fire proof aluminum covered foam sound insulation under the new carpet. (see photo) The top was just installed about 5 years ago. My original plan was to keep it until the end of time on Earth. Circumstances have changed, I am 72 and basically through with all restoration projects as my physical health forces this decision. This car can and should be driven regularly and is extremely dependable, has never disappointed me and I drive it almost daily for errands and for enjoyment all the time. All interior courtesy and glove box, instrument, turn signals, Hi/Low beams, brake and tail lights all work as well. Carbs are excel., brakes good, front end tight, does not burn any noticeable oil, you can drive it home. Strong engine/transmission. Pictures are worth more than words, take a look. Please call me or contact me with any and all questions and ask before you buy it. I promise this is a nice car with no disappointments. Buy the car , then fly to Branson and drive it home and enjoy the fall foliage with the top down and the heater on, life's short don't waste a day. Thanks Mike near Branson, MO 65611 on beautiful Table Rock Lake 417-254-3333On Oct-03-16 at 13:29:42 PDT, seller added the following information: HI FOLKS FIRST THANKS FOR THE INTEREST SO FAR ON MY CAR! I HAVE A BIDDER THAT HAS NO EBAY EXPERIENCE BUYING OR SELLING AND I KNOW WE ALL HAVE TO START SOMETIME, BUT IF THIS BIDDER DOESN'T CONTACT ME ON THE PHONE REAL QUICK I AM GOING TO CANCEL HIS BID WHICH WILL LOWER THE HIGH BID A LITTLE AND IF THIS HAPPENS I JUST WANTED ALL OF YOU TO KNOW WHAT WAS HAPPENING SO YOU WOULD NOT THINK SOMETHING FISHY WAS GOING ON. I DON'T WANT A BAD BID TO RUIN ALL THE TIME YOU ALL AND I HAVE SPENT ON THIS. ANY QUESTIONS OR IF YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND THIS, PLEASE CALL ME. THX MIKE 417-254-3333 On Oct-03-16 at 15:25:01 PDT, seller added the following information: One more update folks. That bidder would not contact me so I blocked his/her from bidding so that is why the high bid amount changed. Just want all to know what happened. He had been a member but never bought or sold anything here and I did not want to chance this going to the end and that bidder being the winner and not paying for the car. I am a serious seller and I don't want to get scammed. thx Mike On Oct-05-16 at 09:41:34 PDT, seller added the following information: Thanks for looking and bidding. One more thing; I know so many folks think/hope their Cars are worth more than anyone else's car, so they tend to ask too much. I am realistic and know that how much I have in it or what I'd like to get have little or no effect on the real market value. So when I listed it I put a reserve on it, then before I pushed the list it now button, I lowered it by 3 grand to what I feel is way less than it is worth and I am hoping that before all bids are in the bidders will see it has reached the reserve and see that it is going to sell. My plan is that it might bring closer to what I need to break even if people stay interested to the end because they see it is going to sell. Y'all are very close so don't quit now. Thx again Mike
