My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1998 Saturn SW2 with the desirable 5 speed manual transmission. I will start by admitting that I actually like these cars. There is something about their simplicity that appeals to me. These cars are the last of the first generation of cars conceived by Saturn before the brand got fully absorbed my GM and ruined...like GM does to everything it takes over. It's like they can't keep a good thing going even when it's right in front of them. Anyway, I was quite excited when I saw this little SW2. Back in the day, I used to sell a ton of these but the sad truth is that good ones are nearly impossible to find anymore. I would rate the exterior of this SW2 to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. As you can see, this is a good looking wagon. The worst I can say about the exterior is a little damage on the right side of the tail gate. Otherwise, you'd be hard pressed to find anything on the exterior worth complaining about...especially considering that the majority of these cars weren't treated very well and most are completely ruined by now. The dark blue finish has a nice shine and the paint looks smooth all around. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and tail gate all open and close easily. The windows are professionally tinted, which looks good. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory wheel covers all show well. The tires have good tread all around. Pride in ownership shows throughout this Saturn. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. I would also rate the interior of this Saturn to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The door panels are clean and tight. The carpets show a few marks from age but are presentable throughout the interior. A full set of floor mats is included. The cloth seats also show well for their age and are comfortable. As with most older Saturn's, the headliner sags a little, but just in a small spot up front...which is far better than most. This is a rather well optioned Saturn. It has power windows and mirrors work properly. The power locks do not work...which is common with these cars at this age. Additionally, this SW2 has ABS, Traction Control and Cruise Control...all of which are add on options for these cars. The original radio has been upgraded with a Sony CD player which seems to be working properly. In addition to the original owners manual for the car, the manual for the radio is also included. Again, pride in ownership shows throughout this Saturn. The climate control system also appears to be in full working condition. The heater works well and the air conditioner still blows ICE COLD AIR. The cargo area is spacious and clean. Mechanically, this Saturn appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 1.9L DOHC engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks. I haven't seen any noticeable smoke but these are known to burn a little oil as they age, so you should pretty much expect that with any older Saturn. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. The engine keeps perfect temperature at all times. The check engine light came on about 100 miles into my road test. The code that came up was P0420 (catalyst efficiency below threshold). This means either the rear oxygen sensor is bad or the catalytic converter needs replaced. As I said, I've driven this car more than 100 miles and I can say for certain that the converter isn't clogged and the car is 100% drivable anywhere you want to go. This should be about a $100-150 fix if your state requires emissions testing. The engine makes good power and feels strong. The clutch engages smoothly and does not slip or chatter. Gear changes through the five speed manual transmission are nice and clean, as they should be. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints...and you can expect highway fuel economy in the upper 30's, in my experience. She has a current PA safety inspection good through the end of September. This SW2 has had the same owner since 2010, who put almost 100,000 miles on her. If you want a simple, reliable car...a first generation Saturn is about as good as it gets. Clean examples of these cars are next to impossible to find so bid to own. I haven't had one of these cars in over a year. Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to read this entire description as well as our Terms & Conditions carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction.
Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1998 Saturn SW2 with the desirable 5 speed manual transmission. I will start by admitting that I actually like these cars. There is something about their simplicity that appeals to me. These cars are the last of the first generation of cars conceived by Saturn before the brand got fully absorbed my GM and ruined...like GM does to everything it takes over. It's like they can't keep a good thing going even when it's right in front of them. Anyway, I was quite excited when I saw this little SW2. Back in the day, I used to sell a ton of these but the sad truth is that good ones are nearly impossible to find anymore. I would rate the exterior of this SW2 to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. As you can see, this is a good looking wagon. The worst I can say about the exterior is a little damage on the right side of the tail gate. Otherwise, you'd be hard pressed to find anything on the exterior worth complaining about...especially considering that the majority of these cars weren't treated very well and most are completely ruined by now. The dark blue finish has a nice shine and the paint looks smooth all around. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and tail gate all open and close easily. The windows are professionally tinted, which looks good. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory wheel covers all show well. The tires have good tread all around. Pride in ownership shows throughout this Saturn. Please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully.
I would also rate the interior of this Saturn to be in ABOVE AVERAGE CONDITION for its age and mileage. The door panels are clean and tight. The carpets show a few marks from age but are presentable throughout the interior. A full set of floor mats is included. The cloth seats also show well for their age and are comfortable. As with most older Saturn's, the headliner sags a little, but just in a small spot up front...which is far better than most. This is a rather well optioned Saturn. It has power windows and mirrors work properly. The power locks do not work...which is common with these cars at this age. Additionally, this SW2 has ABS, Traction Control and Cruise Control...all of which are add on options for these cars. The original radio has been upgraded with a Sony CD player which seems to be working properly. In addition to the original owners manual for the car, the manual for the radio is also included. Again, pride in ownership shows throughout this Saturn. The climate control system also appears to be in full working condition. The heater works well and the air conditioner still blows ICE COLD AIR. The cargo area is spacious and clean.
Mechanically, this Saturn appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 1.9L DOHC engine starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks. I haven't seen any noticeable smoke but these are known to burn a little oil as they age, so you should pretty much expect that with any older Saturn. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. The engine keeps perfect temperature at all times. The check engine light came on about 100 miles into my road test. The code that came up was P0420 (catalyst efficiency below threshold). This means either the rear oxygen sensor is bad or the catalytic converter needs replaced. As I said, I've driven this car more than 100 miles and I can say for certain that the converter isn't clogged and the car is 100% drivable anywhere you want to go. This should be about a $100-150 fix if your state requires emissions testing. The engine makes good power and feels strong. The clutch engages smoothly and does not slip or chatter. Gear changes through the five speed manual transmission are nice and clean, as they should be. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints...and you can expect highway fuel economy in the upper 30's, in my experience. She has a current PA safety inspection good through the end of September. This SW2 has had the same owner since 2010, who put almost 100,000 miles on her. If you want a simple, reliable car...a first generation Saturn is about as good as it gets. Clean examples of these cars are next to impossible to find so bid to own. Full payment is due within 7 day of the auction's end. The prefferred method is to bring cash in person to complete the sale. If you are unable to bring cash in person within seven days or will be having the vehicle shipped, we also accept Certified Checks, USPS Postal Money Orders, and wire transfer.
PayPal is not an accepted payment method. This includes Bill Me Later.
We cannot accept credit cards or personal checks.
Vehicles that are not picked up within 14 days of auction's end will be charged a $10/day storage fee, unless other arrangments are made.
Non-paying Bidders:
We take great pride in our work and are very serious about what we do. Likewise, we expect the people who bid on our auctions to be serious about honoring their bid. If you are the successful bidder for any of our auctions and do not pay for your vehicle within the specified time, an Unpiad Item case willbe opend with eBay. This can severely restirct yur ability to purchse from all eBay sellers. You will be charged a $249 re-listing fee. All unpaid fees will be handed over to a collection agency and pursued to the fullest extent of the law.
Fee and Tax Information: The only fee added by the seller is our $149 fee. This is used to isolate our fixed expenses such as eBay fees, transportation, processing, etc., and is not applied to any costs incurred by the purchaser.
The purchaser is responsible for any and all costs associated with transfer of ownership including, but not limited to: registration, sales tax, tags (including temp or in-transit tags), title transfer, inspection, and transportation expenses.
We are a PennDOT issuing agent and able to complete most tag, registration, and title work, as well as collect sales tax, for Pennsylvania residents.
For out-of-state buyers, PennDOT offers a 30-day temporary tag (aka In-Transit tag). The cost is $49 and the buyer must show a valid driver's license and current proof of insurance. We can issue them at our office.
