Vehicle Detail
Hello. This is my 1996 F-150 XLT, short box, two wheel drive pickup truck. The paint is that very pretty red maroon heavy metallic with a light grey bottom finish. This truck has all of it's original paint and it has not been re-painted. The truck has spent it's entire life in the southern states out of the rust belt. The body is rust free. The underneath side is also rust free. No rust or rot scale......just virgin, unpainted, no undercoated frame, axles and under body. The paint finish is very nice, but it is not new. It's 20 years old, but it sure has held up nicely. I like to see an honest truck. One that you can look at and see it for what it is without looking at a heavily undercoated frame to hide a bunch of scale or by using 5 gallons of armor all to make a vehicle all shiney and pretty until you go to wash it, that is. It does have a small scratch back by the passenger side rear tail lamp that has been touched up and it has a small ding under the passenger side mirror. Both are hard to see, but they are there. It may have a chip or two, but they are not all that noticeable, but again, it's certainly not new by any means. Overall, what it is, is a very nice little desirable pickup truck that turns everybody's head that see's it. I am constantly getting nice comments about it every time I stop in it somewhere. The interior is also nice and clean. The seat, carpet and door panels show a little wear as you can see. I just want to be totally upfront about it. Mechanically, it is in excellent condition. I just had it serviced front to back. Everything works on it. It has a new tune-up and oil and filter change. It has new tires. The a/c will freeze you out. The engine has been changed out. When I purchased it, the original engine was getting tired. I had a professional shop install a low mileage, perfect running engine in it out of a 1 owner 1996 F-150, so the engine was a direct fit, like kind and good quality and the install was done right! The truck runs, drives and handles just about as good as it did when it was new. As I told you, it's a little, short, sharp F-150 that really gets the looks. These little guy's are getting hard to come by in this one's condition. I'd love to keep it, but I am getting older now and I need the cash to afford some very expensive repairs to my home that were not expected, so my priorities are going in that direction. If you'd like to have a pretty little truck for a reasonable price..... here you go. If you have any question's or concerns, just ask away. You will be treated with respect and your question's are welcome. God bless! On Aug-22-16 at 19:09:16 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to add that the truck has never towed anything, but it does have a trailer tow package on it. It is wired for the trailer plug connector from the factory and it has the handling package installed as well, to include front and rear sway bars. That rear bed cover rolls up to the cab and lashes away if you want to use the bed for anything. It is not a hard cover. On Aug-25-16 at 08:09:24 PDT, seller added the following information: I must have had a mental lapse when I started this auction, because I left out some pertinent information about the driveline and that was brought to my attention today. The engine is a 302 efi v-8 with a 4R70e automatic transmission.
