I'm selling my used 1999 VW Jetta TDI with the ALH engine, it is the first year of the MKIV body style (hence 1999.5 year model). It has approximately 245k miles, and I have owned it since 215k miles. The previous owner said the timing belt was done between 180k and 187k miles. I believe that the turbo is tired as speeds above 60mph cause the engine to go into "limp mode" (which is then reset by turning the car off and then back on). The "Check Engine" and glow plug lights are illuminated on the dash. Driver seat has tear in foam, but otherwise seats have some light staining. The paint is worn on the top of the vehicle, and several areas of the body have moderate imperfections. No significant known rust areas. Have receipts for work done, and engine has been serviced with Shell Full Synthetic Rotella 5W-40 oil. I have purchased a newer car so this car must go, but this car is very reliable. Parking brake cables need to be replaced, but brakes otherwise work great. Comes with unused spare tire purchased new with front tires in 2013. This car is being sold "as is, where is", and buyer is responsible for any desired pre-purchase inspection. The car is located in South Florida. I am willing to drive the car to your desired location as long as my expenses are covered and I receive full payment beforehand. Upon winning the bid, buyer is responsible for making a $200 deposit and contacting me within 24hrs of winning to arrange final payment or else the car is subject to being relisted.
