Up for auction is a running, driving 1945 Chevrolet Pickup ½ ton. Yes! This is a 1945 half-ton pickup! There is a clear title that states 1945. The VIN # is BK437857 Here is a link to a video of the truck running and driving: https://youtu.be/7H2bQNsLdaE This means that the truck was manufactured sometime around July of 1945 – according to the VIN #, that means the 43rd month of 1942 . . . very cool! Don’t let the rust fool you, this truck has been carefully gone through, and the fender and cab mounts have all been re-done at a local hot rod shop, which also did a frame swap onto an S10 frame. Temperature gauge Voltage meter Oil pressure gauge The truck runs and drives smoothly. It is fun to have an old truck that is a real DRIVER. It is also safer than stock – and has POWER BRAKES, POWER STEERING, modern suspension, etc. This truck was built to be a regular driver while still maintaining the look of an original pickup. The door bottoms are very rusty. The grill and fenders are rusty. The running boards are rusty. I will not hide the fact that there is rust on this truck. We kept it that way. With its patina, you could consider it a pretty neat Rat Rod Like all old pickups, this truck has its issues. There are a few issues that do not affect how it drives, but the new owner may or may not want to fix: The driver’s side window regulator needs adjusting, as it is difficult to raise the window completely. The windshield wiper motor is original and not hooked up. There is a new GM fuel sending unit installed in the gas tank, but it is not hooked up. Driver’s window has a crack across the window. Passenger window has a small crack at the bottom. It has been that way for many years. There is no glove box liner, but the compartment opens and latches. No seat belts I don’t know the mileage on this truck. I have a six-mile commute, and I have never driven this truck any long distances. It would be great driving around town.
