BARN FIND A true barn/ garage find. Having only 61500 miles this awesome 1967 Ford LTD Galaxie 500 390 ci. 2 bbl. automatic 2 door coupe slant back equipped with power steering and factory air conditioning has been parked for the better part of the past 20 years and saw minimal use prior to that. Always garage kept and driven mostly on the weekends by a little ole man to church, literally. The gentlemen passed away recently and the family decided to part with his lifelong prized possession. He acquired the LTD on November 25th 1968 from Don Drennen Motor Co. a long gone local dealership in Ensley Alabama and has owned it ever since. It resided in the adjoining community of Wylam, AL its' entire life. Records indicate that the sale price was $2740.48. I have all the original paper work including the original warranty data plate. Upon obtaining the LTD I have had fluids and filters changed along with belts and upper and lower radiator hoses. The valve cover gaskets and water pump have also been changed as the water pump was noisy and the cover gaskets were seeping some oil. The brakes have been gone through completely A-Z with shoes, wheel cylinders, spring kit, hardware kits, adjusters, hoses, and master cylinder, etc. practically everything except the actual hard lines. Stops great. Points, condenser, rotor, coil, plug wires and cap were changed and a good fresh tank of premium gasoline were added and she fired up instantaneously after her two decade hibernation. I saved the original pieces for all you original parts guys. A trip to the detail shop made this baby look like it was built yesterday. The vinyl top and paint shine like new money, you can see the reflection of the of the surrounding terrain, grass and parking lot stripes in the paint even evident in the photos. She drives great, smooth and soft just as one of these land barges is supposed to with such low mileage. Transmission shifts out perfect. Exhaust is quiet. Pretty much everything operates correctly aside from the fuel gauge reading low and the AC needing charging. Unknowingly to all the family I found that the car had a repaint, which was most likely done in the first few months of the cars life and prior to this gentleman's purchase. I can find no evidence of any repair work, wreck or damage. The only thing that I can figure as a  possibility is that the car sustained some hail damage in the very first few months of it's life while still owned by the original buyer. With it being a brand new car it stands to reason that the insurance company covered the cost of a repaint. If you look closely from the right angle and right light you can see some very small dimples in the top of the front fenders. It's pretty hard to pick up on. This is what led me to this assumption. I have owned probably a hundred plus vintage cars, some very, very nice ones, and there has only been one that was the caliber of originality and condition of this car, I have regretted selling that car for the past 13 years and I am sure I will regret selling this one also . It is as solid as it was in 1967. It appears to have the original vinyl top and we all know how vinyl top cars breed moisture resulting in extensive rust. Not this one, there are only minimal signs of some very light peppering that can be found in the most usual place, lower corner of the rear window under vinyl. The underneath of the car looks just like you would expect, rust free. Trunk is as solid as a rock. It appears to have the original spare tire and jack in the trunk. Tires are in very good shape. This is an awesome example of a car that was proudly owned and babied by its owner until his passing. It would be next to impossible to find another one of these with this mileage, 60,500 and in original condition. Buyer is responsible for all shipping and transportation. Drive it home! I will assist as much as possible to help with the loading for transport. A $500.00 PayPal deposit is required within 48 hours of the auctions end and payment in cash in full is required within 10 days of end of auction. Alabama does not issue titles for vehicles over 35 years old. Alabama has never issued titles for vehicles built prior to 1975. The winning bidder will receive all the documentation that is required to obtain a title in any state that issues titles on these older vehicles, current registration, current license plate and notarized bill of sale. The reserve is set well below what I feel the worth and market value for this car are. If you have any questions or would like to see the car just give me a call, 205-960-6800. Thank you and good luck!
