1964 BMW R60/2 RM5 A restomod build with all the original features of the /2 now benefiting from a larger 750cc engine and more modern transmission. Retaining a kick start, there is also a hidden electric start button discreetly placed under the gas tank. This motorcycle benefits from a 12 volt conversion meaning brighter lights in the form of bar end turn signals, tail light and H4 headlight. A new AGM gel type sealed battery powers the system. This motorcycle runs 32mm Bing carburetors with pod filters to enhance air flow.Aircraft grade silicone gaskets have been used throughout the build. This motorcycle was pulled out of a chicken coup in Southern California in December. Previously not registered since the '80s, I have gone through the bike, top to bottom, and it is now on the road and California registered. Wearing new paint and pin striping, this bike really stands out as a useable classic with plenty of power that the original never had. This motorcycle performs very well and keeps up with modern traffic, and is both agile and nimble enough to use as an everyday rider.
