Vehicle Detail
Low Reserve If you are looking at this you most likely know it is a bike of value. These old toasters seem to be the bike that most BMW enthusiasts like. This old gal is not perfect but everything works as it should . (including the tach and speedo) I would feel comfortable driving this bike anywhere. Although not “super scarce” these guys will never go down in value. There are only 47,700 original miles on the clock. . The bike has just passed NYS inspection but the back tire should be replaced fairly soon (see pic) . All numbers match and the chrome is fine. The bike starts easily (on both electric or kick) and does not smoke. The bike runs through all gears like it should and cruises effortlessly at low or high speeds without breaking up. The gas Tank is great and so is the fuel delivery system in general. (no leaks and nothing but non ethanol gas has been used in the past 8 years.) I am the third owner of this bike. I purchase it from a BMW mechanic and enthusiast in 2009. At that time the valves were re-adjusted, the rear spline was lubricated and new points, wires and plugs were put in. The cosmetics are fine as is the overall condition of the bike. I have put only 3K miles on the bike since my purchase as I own several bikes and am thinning the Herd , so to speak. (see additional Pic) . I do not have the original tool Kit but there is the original air pump. I also have a repair manual if you need that. I also have a couple of high quality “canister” oil filters which are included. (I buy them in bulk and ALWAYS change the oil every spring regardless of miles put on that year. The bike came with the EURO mirrors which look cool, but are not original. I do have a set of the original German (Bumm) mirrors which go along with the bike (se pic) Please do not ask questions that are self-explanatory. This Bike is 43 years old and therefore, not brand new. Expect the bike not to be in perfect, museum quality condition. Having stated this I could hop on this machine today and drive it across the country. Look at the pics and use your common sense. Winning Bidder Pays $500.00 Down within 5 business days (certified check) . Full payment to follow with certified funds within another 10 business days unless otherwise arranged with seller. Storage is free for long as you want up to a 90 days if necessary) Here is my standard disclaimer: the bike has been described truthfully and to the very best of my ability. There is no warranty expressed or implied. The bike is being sold strictly “As IS” Please do not ask about the reserve price and DEFFINATELY do not ask me to sell the item before auctions end. Auctions are fun…let’s keep it that way. The pics are not great so.. if you need clearer pics I can send them upon request with my smart phone.
