Listing my 1979 Honda CBX purchased from the original owner in 2012. This bike has been in northern California all of its life. Original CA license plate is valid and goes with the bike. Current registration is on non-op status with the CA DMV. No back fees. Clean title in my name. This particular bike is fitted with the highly desirable genuine Honda Sport Kit (lower handle bars, different switches, top-mounted throttle cables, and foot plates which set the foot pegs slightly more to the rear of the machine). Factory original Persius Silver paint. Excellent condition original 1979 Honda HM422 exhaust system (amazing and rare). The bike is in non-running condition which is the way I purchased it. I have not attempted to start this bike. Last registration date was 1997, so assume it has not run since then. Bike is complete except for rear turn signals. Rear shocks are not original. Tank does have rust inside and will need to be cleaned (the tank and paint are solid on the bottom of the tank - no rust coming through - see picture). The metal meter housing is damaged on the speedometer side (see picture) , trip meter knob is missing, fuel tank has some dings on the left side right above the center of the HONDA emblem (see picture) , and the tail section has a small abrasion and a small 1/2" crack on the left side (see picture) . There is no other damage to the bike. Engine is clean and dry (no evidence of past leaks), and no damage or rust on the exhaust system, and no damage to the pegs, bars, frame, wheels, etc. Front fender is missing some paint (see picture), and the right side of the fuel tank has a soft dent (no broken paint) below the "A" on the HONDA emblem (see picture) . On May-13-16 at 17:57:35 PDT, seller added the following information: Since a few have asked, I have hooked up a battery and tested that all indicator lights come on as they should. Also, removed the right side crankshaft end cap, and tested that the engine turns freely (I shot some WD40 down the spark plug holes 6 months ago in preparation for this). The bike does shift through all the gears as well. Likely all this bike needs in order to run is to have the carbs cleaned and rebuilt, and clean the fuel tank. The Honda CBXs are well built machines, and this bike has never been stored outside, so there's no reason it will not run with clean carbs and fuel.
