Vehicle Detail
This is a 1967 Mustang Fastback that was originally sold to an Airman in Los Angeles CA. in the spring of 67', he was later transferred to Arizona where it sat for over 20 years. I purchased the car in 2001 and was garage kept while undergoing its restoration. There are 107550 original miles on the car of which I have put less than 1100 since purchased. Through research I am the second owner. Body and Paint: Color is Candy Brandywine with LaMans "ghost" stripes. The body is completely rust and bondo free and was stripped down to bare metal. There were some dings that were tapped out but the car has never been in any accidents or had any major damage. The paint is House of colors, primer/body sealer. 2 layers of dark charcoal grey base coat, 4 layers of Solar Gold, 2 layers of Cosmic Silver (ghost Lamans stripes) 6 layers of candy Brandywine (Red) and 6 layers of Euro clear. The inside was completely dipped in POR-15 to prevent any future possibility of rust. This is a very beautiful car and I constantly get complements on it even from people who typically don't like "Red" on cars. The car has a bright sparkly (from the metal flake) in the sunlight and a deep dark blood red in the shade. $18K+ total paint and body Interior: The interior is totally custom, the entire interior was wrapped in leather. Anything that could be wrapped was, kick panels, dash, pillar pads, rear surround, seats, and door panels were all hand stitched in custom supple tan leather. The dash and trim are the deluxe brushed aluminum with a walnut steering wheel. No expense was spared...$12K Engine: The engine and transmission are numbers correct, original 289 and C4 transmission. I had the engine rebuilt by Cleggs race shop, it was bored .30 with cast pistons, lots of internal stuff, heads ported and polished. Also has the Cobra dress kit with custom billet pullies. The carburetor is a Holley 650 and is sitting on an Edlebrock Torker manifold. The engine has been tuned and is pushing close to 300HP. $8500 invested. Exhaust: Long tube headers connect to a custom fit 2.5" exhaust with "X" pipe and duel Magnaflow mufflers and chrome exhaust tips. $2,500 Tires and rims: BFGoodrich g-Force Sport 235/45/ZR17 with less than 500 miles on them and Boyd Coddington Crown Jewell Mopar Ford Wheels. $3K Misc.: Including the original purchase price of the car, I am into it almost $70K. I spent over 10 years and just over $10k tracking down NOS (and correct aftermarket) parts and trim and will include original wheels with blue spinners and parts with the sale of the car. I am looking to pass this gorgeous pony onto someone who will take care of it and love it as much as I have. Winning bidder is required to pay a non-refundable $500 deposit within 48 hours and final payment must clear before car will be handed over. I have clear title in hand.
