Vehicle Detail

You may call me directly at 312-983-0143 with any questions you may have. You are bidding on a wonderful nostalgic vintage Hot Rod truck, built the way they used to be built before LS engines and re-bodied frames. This classic 1956 Ford F-100 is often referred to as the "deuce coupe" of trucks... it is "the" one to have, with its' one-year-only styling and features. This truck is a pleasure to drive, and features driver-friendly comforts including power steering, power brakes, automatic transmission, and a tilt steering column, providing plenty of room for a driver and two passengers. She features a rare and highly-desirable 1956 Chrysler 354 Fire Power Hemi engine as her power plant, and powerful she is! This was the most powerful engine you could install in 1956 with only 1,102 of the engines created. Buck Baker won the NASCAR championship using a Chrysler 300B throughout the 1956 season. This is the first american engine to exceed horsepower per cubic inch (354 cubic inches pushing out 355 horsepower)...true american engineering history here! The engine has been rebuilt, and has approximately 10k miles on it since the work was done. You can notice the top half of the engine was repainted blue with the upgraded chrome 'FirePower' valve covers. Nothing says "Hot Rod" like a classic big Chrysler Hemi in an engine bay; just huge! The truck starts easily and runs great, featuring:- upgraded electronic ignition- rebuilt 4-barrel carburetor- upgraded gigantic radiator to keep things cool These original Chrysler Hemi engines are highly sought-after for street rod and custom builds...A very cool match to the '56 truck. The automatic transmission (1986 Chrysler A-727, made for a dodge 4X4 truck) is in excellent working order (no leaks), and features a brand-new 2500 rpm stall converter, providing just a big more excitement when you put your foot down hard; acts just like a stock torque converter if you ease into it. A transmission shift kit helps to provide crisp and positive shifts. The Weld Rod Lite wheels are a near-perfect choice for a classic truck like this; very reminiscent of the original Halibrand kidney bean magnesium wheels that were used in the 50's, and impossible to find today(they don't sell these rims anymore) The frame is clean and rust-free, and features a 9" Ford rear end with 3.50 gears for a great balance between performance and highway driving. Rear coil-over shocks provide a sound ride, and the independent front suspension front clip offers adjustable ride height, power brakes, and power steering. The front suspension has been slightly lowered and the rear has been slightly raised. Clean and solid exhaust system, shows no wear of rust at all. The interior was redone when the truck was painted in the 70's, and still shows well, featuring a perfect and tight black headliner and visors, diamond-tuft black vinyl bench seat and matching door panels, and black carpet. All in very good condition, all matching the overall condition of the truck, which reflects its' well-cared for survivor status. The truck is very straight with only a few minor dings/dents, no accidents or major damage. She has been cherished her entire life, and garaged most of it as well... it shows in that the truck has only minor surface rust at some of the body seams, and some bubbling under the leading edge of the hood; no rust-through or holes, and that includes rock-solid floorboards, rockers, cab corners, etc. The paint is an older 70's custom white pearl job; some scratches, nicks, chips, discoloring here and there, but overall still smooth and shiny. New chrome grill, great original mirrors, parking lamps, etc. Black top cover for the short bed, sits nice and snug. It has a classic patina that is well-balanced throughout. While you certainly could restore or further customize this classic and take it to the next level, there is no need to. The glass has been replaced with light tinted glass all around, and remains very nice. Windows roll up and down smoothly, doors have good weatherstrip and close solidly, hinges are tight. The tailgate is not rusty, the wood in the bed still mostly solid (a little soft up near the bulkhead), While not flawless, I believe survivor classics like this truck are more fun to own and drive than a freshly-restored vehicle; the honest wear that accumulates over time on a well-loved and well cared for classic only adds to the charm. And, you can't beat the value... these trucks are very expensive when freshly restored. You don't have to be afraid to drive this beauty and have the crowds come running to check her out! Owning this truck is like having a very attractive spouse... people are going to look; be prepared! Clear title in hand, matches VIN exactly for export, inspection, etc. Please be prepared to remit payment in full within 3 business days of auction's end via cash, major bank cashier's check (must wait for funds to clear issuing bank prior to releasing vehicle and/or paperwork), bank-to-bank wire transfer, or deposit into my Bank of America account. Shipping is the full responsibility of the buyer; I will make myself available to your carrier on short notice. While every effort is being made to describe the truck as accurately as possible, it is in fact a 59-year-old classic, and therefore being sold as-is, without warranty or guarantee expressed, written, or implied. I do recommend two items of maintenance: - new rear tires - tire alignment You may call me directly at 312-983-0143 with any questions you may have.
