Stunning, authentic frame-off restoration! Rare factory 4-speed AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (Hydra-Matic)! Five window cab! This knockout truck is thought to be one of only 500 built with this great and sturdy transmission. First year for the curved one-piece windshield. Original 235 Six cylinder engine with automatic choke. Six volt electrical with 8V battery never fails. Turn signals added to original lights. Virtually every part is new: brakes, springs, bearings, tires, chrome, weather strips, glass, gauges, fabric-covered wiring, interior, oak bed, etc… Restored about 10 years ago and never driven – showed only 00002 when I purchased it and now only shows 00073 miles on the new gauges. This truck only needed cab corners and a tailgate but otherwise was never rusty (see photos). I have owned several of these trucks with the common three-on-the-tree manual transmission. They are difficult to drive as the linkage binds up and first gear is unsynchronized requiring double-clutching. This Hydra-Matic transmission works great and shifts firmly taking all the uncertainty out of driving and making your time more enjoyable. Everything works great except the high-beam indicator light on the dash and the horn. The heater is complete with blower motor but it is not connected to power. I have not made any attempt to fix them. The truck was stored in the corner of a restoration shop after being finished so it suffered some minor scratches from nearby activities. I have attached close-up photos of all such areas. Other than these nicks, the truck is just stunning and looks like new – top and bottom.
