Vehicle Detail

For sale is a 2006 Audi A6 Quattro. Car has 114,000 miles on it. The vehicle was traded in on a newer model this week. The check engine light recently came on about 2 weeks ago. Upon diagnosing it, the check engine code shows high pressure fuel pump failure. Customer decided against repairs and hence, the trade in status. The engine runs & sounds excellent. There is some hesitation upon acceleration due to the high pressure fuel pump issue, and some slow engine startup when cold due to the fuel issue. The oil on the dipstick also has some fuel vapor in it. If you are familiar with these engines, the high pressure fuel regulator is under the upper intake manifold. These are also a contributor to the fuel vapor issue. Whether any internal engine damage has occurred is not evident as of yet. I have driven the car and all other items work excellent. Transmission shifts nice, brakes are very good. No rattles, squeaks, etc. Car drives VERY nicely. Tires are about 60%. The interior is in excellent condition. The body is very nice. No door dings, paint scratches, etc. This is a VERY clean car! It would be wise to not continue driving the car until the engine issue is fixed as to not destroy the engine. Vehicle is sold as is. It will take someone some time to investigate the cause and remedy to the problem. Whether the issue can be repaired at a fair cost or if a replacement should be sourced will be up to an experienced mechanic. I welcome any physical inspections M-F 8-5. Just send me a message for directions. Car can be stored here up to 60 days for no storage charges as long as payment terms are met.
