Vehicle Detail
1987 DODGE CHARGER 2.2 HATCHBACK $NO RESERVE$ HISTORY For 1979, Chrysler brought out sporty versions of the L-body Dodge Omni/Plymouth Horizon called the Dodge Omni 024 and the Plymouth Horizon TC3. In 1983. The Omni 024 was renamed the Charger. Carroll Shelby developed a sporty version of the car later during the year, the Dodge Shelby Charger. The transformation continued in 1984, with quad headlights now differentiating the Charger from its Omni origins. The Plymouth Turismo would share the same front end. Apart from the badging, both cars were exactly the same. 1987 was the last year for the Omni/Horizon-derived Charger and Turismo. For 1988, they were replaced by the Dodge Shadow/Plymouth Sundance, and the Belvidere plant was retooled to build the Dodge Dynasty, which succeeded the preceding 600 at the time. Carroll Shelby bought 1,000 of the last Chargers and equipped them with the Omni GLH's engine and suspension to be sold under this name. The Plymouth Duster name continued on the new Plymouth Sundance line midyear in 1992. The 1987 Dodge Charger 2.2 Hatchback featured in this auction was purchased new on September 18th, 1986 at Palmer Dodge on the Westside of Indianapolis. The lady buyer seldom drove the car and always kept it garaged. Although the car was rarely driven the last few years, the owner’s adult son exercised the car regularly and added fresh fuel. She passed in 2015 and the car went to her daughter. I am listing it for the daughter. The current original mileage is 30,475. It is listed as ACTUAL on the new title. This car is equipped with the Carbureted 2.2 liter engine, Automatic transmission, Power Steering and Brakes, Factory Air Conditioning and AM/FM Stereo. The original owner’s manual, registration history and some service history are included. CONDITION This Charger is a Beautiful original car. The car appears to be all original paint. There is a very nice interior. A paint touchup and detail would put this car in Showroom Condition. I drove the car today and it runs, drives and stops like new. I drove it at Highway speeds and there is no vibration. All of the lights, gauges and wipers work correctly. It makes great heat and the Air conditioning system cycles. The only defects I could find are as Follows. It needs a Headliner as it sags, the AM/FM Stereo radio does not work, although a correct replacement radio is included. The shield on the catalytic converter rattles sometimes. This car is a Great Value as it could be driven as an Everyday car for many years to come with the low mileage! DETAILS This is a Beautiful original Dodge Charger 2.2 hatchback. It is freshly serviced and ready to drive anywhere! I have done my best to make an accurate detailed description of this car. If there is an aspect that is not mentioned or you require additional information regarding an item, please E-mail or call Larry at 317-908-6401 with any questions or to schedule an appointment to inspect this Charger Hatchback before the auction ends. Please do not bid unless you intend to purchase the vehicle. I will do whatever is necessary to expedite the delivery. This includes picking you up at the Indianapolis International Airport or meeting your shipper and assisting with the loading. I have been told that I should include the language from the Federal Trade Commission Buyers Guide. This vehicle is being sold As-Is, Where-Is, With No Warranty or Guarantee.
