1957 Chevy BelAirThis car is for sale local and I reserve the right to end the listing at any time.I have a nice original 1957 Bel Air for your consideration. I am the fourth owner of this great car. I was told that the miles are to be accurate and true to the car. The car was purchased from Frank Chevrolet out of Portland Oregon by Gus and Norma (there names are still attached to the dash with little adhesive stickers). As you can see in the pictures it needs a little cosmetic work but at least you know what's there and that nothing is covered up. Most of the rust is just all surface rust. The floors are not rusted thru under the carpet anywhere. The worst of the rust is on the lower door jams of both back doors and there is some rust thru in the trunk. Most of the chrome is in really good shape, except the front and rear bumpers are showing some rust and pitting. The owner that I got it from out of CDA, Idaho had started doing the body work. I was going to buy some paint from Napa and cover up the primer, but I thought you would like to see exactly what has been done to the car. There are a few places that he used bondo under the primer. There are a few rips on the seams of the drivers seat and I was quoted $350 to fix the seams and redo the springs under the drivers seat. The arm rest on the drivers door is torn up and there are two tears in the driver and passenger door panels. The rear cardboard dash panel needs to be replaced. It needs new carpet in it. The dash and head liner are in good shape, other than a couple stains on the head liner. I have the lower trim piece on passenger side, I just took it off to show what was under it for rust. Over all the body is very straight for a 1957 original and could be a great affordable, driving project. The top half of the engine was just apart to fix a vacuum leak and the carb was also just rebuilt. It has a new fuel tank and lines in it. It just had a complete tune up. The engine idles and drives perfect. The power glide transmission works great. The tires are all in good shape. The brakes work good. All of the electrical works perfect....i.e. lights, blinkers, horn, dome light, radio (the radio needs a new antenna on drivers side). It cruises nice down the interstate or around town. The drivers side front and rear glass needs replaced. The windshield has three rock chips in it as well. This is a very nice fun car to drive and will make someone a very happy person while they take the time to make it their own!!
