Vehicle Detail

1965 Buick Skylark. Looks like a beater and the cops will think you have outstanding warrants, but its fun to drive. Rust on R/S quarter, but a new reproduction patch panel is included. Miscellaneous dents, dings, minor rust and scratches -- some call it patina, but it's just hammered s#hit! 454 BBC /350THM -- no posi. Would look great with body and paint, but I'd just drive it and beat it death. Freshened short blockFresh heads New oil pan & pump/pickupMallory Unilite distributorNew water pumpNew pulleysNew timing chain/front coverNew frame stands/motor mountsNew intake manifoldNew Holley CarbNew hi-torque mini starterNew BatteryNew belts and hosesVintage M/T valve coversNew full length Hedman headersNew Champion 3 row aluminum radiatorNew fan shroud with twin cooling fansNew brake booster/master cylinder/combination valveNew front disc brake conversionNew upper and lower front tubular control armsNew fuel pumpNew fuel tank/sending unit/capNew shocksNew Rear Springs The parts alone are worth double the opening bid. Needs some other minor bumps, bruises, and other cosmetics addressed, but for just shy of 50 years old it’s in remarkably good shape. Runs nice I would drive it anywhere). Trans has weird 2-3 shift at times – fluid id cherry red and not burnt, but I have no idea what’s causing it. It happens under light acceleration sometimes??? Steering wheel shown is not included – has a black generic foam 13” Grant. The passenger side bucket seat is not shown but included. (both seats need to be reupholstered). These cars are nothing more than a Chevelle with nicer taillights – and nowhere near the cost. Is the car perfect? No, it’s a beater. Is it a good stock restoration candidate or a good 1st car for my high schooler? No. If I bring this home will my wife divorce me? Probably - maybe even kill you, so be careful! Look at the pictures and know what you are bidding on. Ask questions BEFORE bidding. Car is sold AS, WHERE IS, and WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. Title is clear and currently registered through November 2016. Winning bidder is to arrange for and pay for any shipping costs. Vehicle is to be picked up no later than 2 weeks after auction end. Paypal deposit is due immediately following auction end and balance is due within 7 days. Response to email that could not be posted because additional pictures were attached: Body is basically beat. Floors are all good except for patch in L/F where wiring channel runs. Car leaks like a sieve in the rain. This is NOT a candidate for restoration - it's a beater and nothing more. I can try and get a shot of the trim tag tonight. Not sure if I can get to the engine # till the weekend. It's just a 70's 454, 2 bolt main, 2 piece rear seal, oval port - nothing special. L/R quarter is dented - just beat back out and is rough. Frame is nice - car must have had a massive oil leak at one time and coated the entire bottom in oil. Big mess, but kept it from rusting. If I had a decent body and poor mechanicals, I'd use it as a parts car, do a swap or I'd just drive it like it is 'till the wheels fall off. I can't overemphasize enough that the body is ROUGH. It is not worth the effort to restore - it's just covering the mechanicals and keeping the wind out of your face. BEST BET IS TO CONSIDER THIS A GOOD PARTS CAR THAT YOU CAN ACTUALLY DRIVE HOME (IF YOU ARE FAIRLY LOCAL)!
