This listing is for a brown 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Convertible with various upgrades. The vehicle was well maintained by the current owner (purchased used from Modena Motorcars in Los Angeles, CA in 2000), and had only one previous owner who logged the original 57,365 miles (current mileage is 58,316). All the books, keys, tools and original spare tire are included. The car is equipped with factory A/C and manual transmission, and the original hard and soft tops. The vehicle has had few alterations prior to the current owner, with the primary change being the original exterior paint color having been repainted Mercedes-Benz brown from its original red color. The seats were reupholstered to the current tan colored leather by the first owner, while the interior carpeting remained unchanged. The current owner upgraded the steering wheel to a custom signed Nardi wood-trimmed steering wheel, and the wheel rims were upgraded from the original rims that included hub caps. (Please see the included pictures for further details) The vehicle's exterior is in overall good condition, with minor blemishes/paint-scratches on the front left quarter-panel, driver's side door, the rear trunk, passenger's side door, and front right quarter-panel. The hard top does not have any minor paint scratches, but has minor signs of aging on the chrome, and mild staining on the interior ceiling surface. The soft top is intact with a small worn area on the lower back left corner, with minor staining on the interior. The overall interior of the car shows very minor signs of wear as well, but does not include any tears, staining, or overt blemishes. The factory radio functions properly, and all 4 upgraded wheel rims are in great condition, with each accompanied by Michelin All-Season Rainforce MX4 tires. For the mechanical portion of the vehicle, the engine performs well. Areas that need attention are the following: Needs wheel alignment, the bushings need to be inspected and greased, the factory A/C and heat do not function, and there is a minor oil leak in the rear main seal.
