I am selling my 1976 MG Midget Convertible, at NO RESERVE. This car is an incredibly solid example, and a terrific driver. It comes with the Weber Carburetor conversion, and a brand new top and tonneau cover! This car is ready to enjoy, and just in time for the upcoming spring and summer weather! This MG is in excellent running and driving condition, and has had a lot of recent work. Work done within the last 10,000 miles includes: - Weber carb conversion (original carb included in sale) - New clutch assembly - New clutch master cylinder - New intake manifold - New Fuel pump - New Battery - New Rear brake shoes and wheel cylinders - New Master cylinder - New horns - New light lenses - New axle boots - New top (not installed yet) - New tonnneau cockpit cover (not installed) - Many new electrical parts and wiring The new top and tonneau cover (cost over $700!!!) have not been installed, but are easy to do. Also included is an entire new snap and trim set for the roof. A haynes repair manual is also included. All of the lights and electric components work as they should! The body of this MG is almost completely rust free, save for a couple minor rust bubbles. The floors are 100% solid, as are the trunk and rockers. The car looks great from 20 feet away, but as you get close you can see that it has it's share of dings,dents, paint chips, and scratches. Nothing really major though, just the expected wear and tear you would see on any 40 year old car. The brakes are pretty stiff from sitting, and should be gone through. I'm suspecting the front passenger side wheel cylinder needs to be replaced. I drive it as is now, but the brakes are very stiff. The catch strap for the driver door needs replaced, and has caused a minor wrinkle on the door jam (see pic). The center console is in place, but not screwed in, so that a radio can be easily installed. Not pictured are the original spare, and the original ashtray, but they are included in the sale. On Mar-03-16 at 04:26:18 PST, seller added the following information: I've had many inquiries regarding the current top on it, and the brakes. The car does include a new top, but it is NOT currently installed. The existing top is in poor shape, with a poor fit due to shrinkage. There is a gap above each window, and it has a few minor tears. Will it keep you dry in the rain? Not completely, but you won't be soaked to the bone either. As far as the brakes go, they are very stiff, and require a lot of foot pressure to engage them. It pulls to the left when hard pressure is applied, leading me to believe that the front passenger caliper is frozen. The rear brakes were re-packed within the last 10,000 miles, so that's not the cause of the issue. If you want to be safe, I would suggest trailering the car home.
