Vehicle Detail

Offered for sale is this 1959 Chevrolet El Camino! Innovative for it's time, the El Camino revolutionized the truck industry by combining the comfort and ease of the car's chassis with the hauling potential of a light truck. The 1959 production year was the initial offering of this car/truck and is highly sought-after by collectors around the world. This car here was found recently in a barn in West Texas, and is an excellent project for restoration, or customization. The car is relatively complete, it has all the El Camino trim around the bed, side trim, and there are extra parts included with the sale as seen in the photographs. The body has very typical rust in the areas usually effected on the 1959 Chevrolets, the rockers, quarter-panels, and floors are damage, but the frame is straight and not rotted at all from our inspection. It would appear that someone in the past started to apply fiberglass over the passenger side rockers, so I have no idea what condition the metal is in beneath that. There are some rust areas on the roof, which is typical of 1959 El Caminos; but the hood is rust free, and the tail fins are exceptionally straight! The bed area just has some rust-through in the front, as seen in the photos below, but is otherwise very clean and solid! The interior has the usual rust holes, but there are no signs of accident-damage or repairs. The previous-owner seemed to have wanted a console-shift transmission, so they cut the floor to make a later-model shifter fit. It does shift the gears, but the hole obviously needs to be repaired. The column is out of a later model GM product, but the original key cylinder and key are included with the sale. No seats, or seat-mounts. The dash is intact, and the original gauges are included with the sale. They are rough, but could be good cores for restoration purposes. Due to the speedometer's removal, mileage on the car is unknown. The car's VIN tag decodes to show a V8 powered El Camino manufactured in the St. Louis plant, the car currently has a later-model engine and transmission that are non-operational and will obviously need to be rebuilt or replaced. These are VERY rare cars, and you rarely find such a complete project car available! The car rolls very easily, and will need to be transported on a trailer or car-hauler. The car is located in Lubbock, Texas. Feel free to message me if you wish to view the car or have an appraiser inspect the car on your behalf. NO TITLE, car is sold on Bill-Of-Sale only!
