Vehicle Detail

For Sale!A 1999 Toyota Avalon XLS sedan with approximately 244,802 miles. This is the Platinum Special Edition version of the XLS that comes fully loaded. It has a silver exterior and gray interior. I am the third owner of this vehicle. This vehicle was sold to the 2nd (previous) owner as a Toyota-certified pre-owned vehicle in 2001. I purchased this vehicle used from Van's Honda/Mitsubishi in September of 2010 with 129,608 miles. The vehicle has the following features:Leather seatsFront seats are heatedPower windowsPower door locksPower outboard mirrorsPower sunroof with tilt and slide functionalityOriginal Toyota sound system, which includes:AM/FM radio/cassette/single CD head unitPremium speaker system with subwooferRear seat reading lights4-wheel ABS disc brakesI have records showing regular maintenance on this vehicle while I have owned it. I changed the oil at 3000 mile intervals. I had all of the maintenance work done by LeMieux Toyota, with the exception of the new and replacement tires, alignment, and steering system repairs, which were done by Pomp's Tire and Auto Service Center on the east side of Green Bay and the new stereo, which was installed by Best Buy in Green Bay. I have receipts showing all of work done on the vehicle since I bought it.I have had the following work done on the vehicle: Major work:Front brake pads replaced and front rotors resurfaced at 151,218 miles.Replaced tires with new Michelin Defender tires at 184,551 miles (POMP'S). I have since had two of these tires replaced with new Michelin Defender tires (see below). The two tires remaining on the vehicle from this original tire change have approximately 60,244 miles on them with a 90k mile tread-life warranty from new (I am not sure if the warranty is transferrable). Steering system repaired shortly after tires were replaced (184,612 miles; POMP'S). Repairs include:Replaced one tie rod end.Replaced two sway bars.Replaced front stabilizer bar.Front end alignment.Rear brake pads replaced and rear rotors resurfaced at 194,825 miles. Also, had passenger-side rear brake caliper replaced at this time.New combo switch (directional control, windshield wiper/washer control, and headlight control) installed at 208,420 miles.Major engine maintenance and repair work at 217,074 miles, including:Replaced 12 engine oil sealsBoth valve cover gasketsSpark plug tube sealsCam shaft sealsCrankshaft sealPCV valve sealReplaced PCV valveReplaced spark plugsReplaced timing beltReplaced V beltsReplaced water pumpInstalled engine block heaterNew Pioneer double-DIN AM/FM/CD/Bluetooth head unit installed (BEST BUY; see picture). I still have the original Toyota OEM double-DIN AM/FM/Cassette/CD head unit, if the purchaser wants it.Climate control system blower replaced at 232,728 miles.Replaced two of four Michelin Defender tires at 234,633 miles (POMP'S; see picture). These tires have approximately 10,162 miles on them with a 90k mile tread-life warranty from new. I also purchased Pomp's Tire Guard Warranty (2 year warranty) on these tires.Replaced EGR valve and EGR solenoid valve at 242,301 miles.Replaced windshield wiper transmission and one of the socket joints in the windshield wiper system at 244,802 miles.Routine/minor work:• Immediately after purchase, I had the following preventative maintenance work done by LeMieux Toyota (at 129,769 miles)Auto transmission fluid flush and fill.Engine coolant replacement.Brake fluid flush and fill.Transaxle speed sensor (part of transmission) replaced at 133,242 miles.Debris cleared from the cabin climate control system blower at 135,105 miles.Wiper blades changed at 153,978 miles and 215,063 miles.Air filer replaced at 158,509 miles, 189,444 miles, and 243,636 miles.Fuel door release repaired at 166,681 miles. The spring clip that pops open the fuel filler door when the release is pulled broke. This part was replaced.Battery replaced with new Toyota-brand battery at 201,315 miles.Exhaust system repairs at 217,980 miles. Fair Muffler replaced a leaky flex coupling.Problems with vehicle:The driver's side outside door handle is broken (see picture). The door latch and locking mechanisms work fine; it's just that the actual handle that you lift up on to open the door has a chunk of plastic missing from it. I am able to open it fine, but I need to grab the handle towards the front in order to get enough leverage to lift up the door handle itself. The cost to have the plastic latch piece replaced is just over $200 through LeMieux Toyota. Vehicle will eventually need a new power steering pump. The current one has a small leak. The hood release does not work from inside the vehicle. The hood can be released, but it needs to be done from the front of the vehicle. The cost to replace the release mechanism was quoted at $320.51 by LeMieux Toyota. The mud flap on the passenger side front wheel is torn. The trim pieces that trim out the driver side power seat controls do not stay on the seat (see picture). I am sure this is easily fixable, but I have not attempted to do so. The power seat still works. The driver side front floor mat is in poor shape (see picture). The front passenger side door interior trim panel was coming loose. After several attempts to get the door panel fixed in place by LeMieux, including replacing the plastic clips that hold the interior trim panel onto the door itself, I just screwed the door panel into the door using sheet metal screws. It is not as attractive as before, but at least the door panel does not come off.The front grille (plastic) is cracked (see picture). The GPS unit and mount that is pictured is not included in this sale. I have disclosed everything I know is wrong (or might go wrong) with the vehicle. I am not responsible for any additional issues that may exist with the vehicle but that I not aware of. I am not a mechanic, but I am kept up to date on the condition of the vehicle by LeMieux Toyota. Happy Bidding!
