Vehicle Detail

...Ever always wanted that special Pagoda that everyone else had? But own the one with the story that no one else has, or could ever even come close to, with out spending a quarter of a million to get it. Now this is your chance. This car is the real deal... Here is a video, along with pictures that were taken 1/19/16: Please go to YouTube.com and type in "Davids 280sl Pagoda" to see a live video of the vehicle running and in live condition. Up for auction is an 1 owner bought new, restored to original condition, amazing example of a well-kept Mercedes Benz 280 SL (Pagoda). This car was kept in the same temperature controlled garage its entire 45 year life by the same and original owner. Never driven in snow, even though they do not use salt in Denver, CO. This is surely one of the nicest and well maintained and very close to original cars that is available out there, and with the documentation, 1 owner, and story this vehicle should be deemed priceless. This 280 is a pre-concourse car. Along with the car comes the original Bill of Sale, original Title and all documentation that was from the day of purchase at the dealership in Colorado springs, CO. All major work is well documented. Over 100,000 in receipts in hand. Original Manuals included as well. There is literally a receipt for any and all of the work that has ever been put into this car, as well as tire receipts, parts, or servicing's. All of the records are available. However, this prominent Denver Doctor did much of the maintenance himself. He was very anal about the maintenance of this vehicle. You wouldn't believe the notes, the records, and organization this guy had with the brochures and the manuals. This car handles, runs, steers and rides exactly the way it did in 1970, if not better. No clunks, bangs, noises in any part of the vehicle while in use. These cars have increased in value almost 400% over the last 10 years. One of this quality is sure to lead the pack in future appreciation. This car shows unbelievable.Things to consider with this car that separate it from all others:It has been restored to original condition, to original spec.It has the notches untouched in the front, next to the head lights.Matching Number under the hood, window tag, and engine bay tag.All numbers visible and in very good shape. It has the original tool kit, spare tire, and spare tire jack with the vehicle.Original documents from when the vehicle was purchased by the owner. The interior is perfect, the convertible top is still in the plastic.-all weld dimples are visible in the motor compartment, and the number that is stamped on the inside of the hood.No white smoke at start up, runs and drives perfectly, shows extremely well. This is not a cut up and welded back together (In Joe’s body shop, with a fancy name) restoration car, it is all Mercedes Benz metal. It had new paint in 2005 (original colors) and it looks like it was just completed. Absolutely no rust or no bubbling. It has the trademark notches on front fenders, all weld spots are clear, hood stamp is clear no dings or dents. The tan and Tobacco paint is in excellent condition. The engine was rebuilt with a new short block as the owner did not like that it was smoking. The original short block is available if the buyer is interested. It is in good condition but needs to be machined. Mechanically, this car runs perfectly. No leaks. And absolutely no troubles starting, and 0.00% smoke at start up. The motor runs like it has 5,000 miles on it. No weird noises, shakes, or hiccups from this unit. This car is restored to Original and has New: Soft top, Wood, seat covers, door panels, dash and other misc interior pieces. The originals were serviceable but not up to the standards of this fine automobile. All materials were original Mercedes Benz factory specs in original colors. The carpet is original and still in very good condition. This beautiful 1970 Mercedes Benz 280 SL Pagoda is as original. It was serviced and maintained with an open checkbook, and it shows.
