Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a vintage 1962 MG MGA MKII roadster that is in need of restoration. This is a project that has sat for many years in dry storage. A previous owner was painting it green (original color is Red), and did a respray (over the piping, etc). They did a basic repair of the rockers, but it needs inner sills, and rockers done properly. The A posts are in good shape, but the B posts need repair as well. The frame is straight but needs floor rails and battery boxes as well as a few small patches in the frame where the floor rails mate up. The front fenders look very good and never repaired, but there is a small rust hole below the left turn signal lens. The rear fenders look like they were only bondoed at the bottom, but otherwise are original. The rocker panel repair was actually placed OVER the original lower fender finishing strip (still in steel). The original engine and transmission are there, but the engine apparently had a problem with number 1 cylinder and the piston is missing, but most of the other parts are there. The connecting rods are numbered per cylinder and the rods caps, main caps, original "16" head, flywheel, back plate, front plate, etc are there. 98% of the parts are there for a complete car. Please look at the pictures and if you don't see something that you think is necessary for the sale, please let me know. The tires were all replaced about 7 years ago so that they would all hold air. There is no exhaust pipe, but I can supply one if needed. The top bows are OK, but need some screws. No interior other than the seats. The previous owner removed the fabric on the dash, but this can be purchased new for the restoration. I do have a spare dash for the bottom trim piece if desired. If you have any questions please ask. A $500 none-refundable deposit via PayPal is required within two days of the close of the auction if you purchase the vehicle. You must arrange the transport as this is local pickup only.
