Vehicle Detail

Enthusiast Owned and Maintained Daily Driver-Fully Sorted Dream Machine! Michelin Tires. Original So Cal owners took delivery at the Factory in Stuttgart and later moved to Arizona so car is rust free and solid. It's obviously been garaged and not left outdoors. Don't be put off by the mileage! The car runs strong, solid and reliable. Beautiful Dash, with only one small crack at the far right. Most all systems have been rebuilt/replaced with new OEM German parts-See list below. It's made 4 R/T to Oregon, seen Meteor Crater in AZ, and multiple trips to San Francisco. I drive Palm Springs to LA 300 mile R/T a couple times a month. This wagon gets 23 MPG at 80-85 MPH with the ice cold AC on and no overheating-even in Palm Springs Summers! It "chirps" the tires between 2nd and 3rd gear! The odometers on these cars are the the only weak link. Mine is accurate, but I've bought 300TD wagons with much less indicated mileage that were used up and junk. This wagon was originally Artic White and repainted the correct Mercedes color of Deep Blue by previous owner in 2009. It's a decent paint job, with door jams, etc done but has normal wear and tear rock chips, etc. These Deep Blue Wagons almost always have blue interiors and I don't care for blue interiors. I like black, so I had the correct black carpet from World Interiors installed, sourced 2 full leather front seats from a 300SD Sedan, and other assorted black trim interior parts from black interior wagons and some panels were dyed black. This car gets attention everywhere it goes, from Valet parking in Beverly Hills to the grocery store here in Palm Springs. It's elegant with the Navy Blue/Black combo and the chrome accents like the luggage rack really look nice. I recently bought a 2015 VW TDI wagon and only have one car port. This Mercedes, which has been my labor of love the past 3 years is just too nice of a car to park in the sun out here and not use. The Good-(too much to list-here's some) comfortable, safe, elegant, fully sorted and ready to go cross countryBlack front full leather seats wonderful, armrest has small tear Almost perfect Dash-one small crack at the far right side only Original turbo rebuilt by James @ Performance Techniques, SB w/upgraded bearings, ceramic coated exhaust manifold and exhaust side turbo parts. NEW not rebuilt AC parts, compressor, dryer, belts, hoses, fan blower motor, new radiator, aux electric fan, fan clutchNEW rear brake calipers from Centrex, all 4 flexible brake hoses replacedSLS system works great. NEW hi pressure hoses from SLS pump to bulkhead.NEW Vacuum pumpPower Steering Pump shaft seal replaced-no leaks.New Bosch 3-Year free replacement battery purchased May/2015New Bilstein Sport Shocks in Front. Rear SLS shocks/Nitrogen units perfectMichelin Tires all around. Spare wheel is original Alloy like newOriginal tool kit3rd Row back seat with all parts, additional 3-point shoulder belts, hardware, tan leather, needs re-upholstering but it's a nice optionset of rear seat headrests (3) not installed but complete with receivers1985 California Only Trap Oxidizer removed-bypass pipe in it's place. Runs cooler, more power, reduces weight by almost 30 pounds. No smog test required for these vehicles.1985 300TD has a better geared rear end ratio for quicker acceleration. This wagon is quick! The tires chirp between 2nd and 3rd gears!Transmission rebuilt in 2012 but previous owner rebuilt the more robust 1984 transmission so you get best of both years. New fuel return lines, and fuel tank breather/supply lines/fuel tank filter installed this year.New water pumpRear wiper motor-replacement parts unavailable. I had master craftsman, fabricator completely rebuild unit making new parts. Works like a dream!New rear hatch rubber seal + new rear hatch gas shocks installed Enthusiast maintained-valves adjusted every 5,000 to 7,000 miles.Oil & filter changed every 3,000 to 5,000. I Drove this car and Pampered it too.Lots of OEM and new in the box parts, oil filters, rubber bumper trim, suspension parts, over $1500 worth.Original owners/drivers manual-Maintence log book I've maintained since 2013. Many receipts from before from previous owner. The Not So Good-but not critical cruise control, power radio antenna and power door locks do not work-2-small oil leaks. NOT the famous Turbo oil return line leak-that one is perfect! There's a small transmission fluid leak under middle of car and a small hydraulic fluid leak at rear of car from the SLS control lever unit. front armrest has small tear I'm a long time Ebayer with 100% Positive Feedback. I am not a dealer or car "flipper" This was my personal wagon, hand picked and loved. It needs nothing but to be driven and enjoyed. I encourage buyers spring for a PDI or if out of town, have a local Mercedes expert inspect the car. Palm Springs Mercedes Benz Dealership is just down the street and they've got wrenches that understand these cars. Go drive other Mercedes Wagons then come drive mine and you'll buy it! Thanks for looking! On Nov-27-15 at 15:27:44 PST, seller added the following information: Hi-I've done my best to honestly describe the wagon with clear sharp photos and a highly detailed description. This is a 30 year old vehicle in well-sorted good running order, with nothing to my knowledge to hamper a cross country road trip. I encourage interested parties to drive the car, inspect it in person, or have a specialist inspect the car. It is sold as-is. I've spent just under $20,000 on the car making it a reliable and attractive vehicle for me. I'm happy for it's new owner to benefit from my labor of love. My opening bid is the price of a beater rusty wagon without working AC, and shredded interior. It's priced to sell as I've got no place to store it.
